I was looking at the HD7750, my PC is a pre-built Asus with a GT 545 and most likely a 300? watt PSU. Could an HD7750 be a good step up from this? I'm looking to be able to handle an HD display in the future with it. Would my pre-built Asus handle a HD7750? Also if you had the choice would you buy this GPU over an HD display to replace a 1440x900 display I currently have?

the 7750 isnt a hgue step up but it is a step up basically your moving about to graphics cards up. the hd 7770 would also be an option the 545 consumes about as much power as the 7770 and it would be a noticeable improvement.

tbh here is who i would do if you have a mini pc:

new case, power supply, hd 7770

then get yourself a better monitor if you want but tbh with you 1440 x 900 is still an awesome resolution as a dude who has tried 1080p its not exactly what i call "thrilling" at least imo on the games i play. (brutal legend beta, MWO beta, GW2, dota 2, metro 2033, and the odd tribes: ascend match. i used to have a 19" 1440 x 900 screen but i went up to a a 32" 1366 x 768 and have been enjoying that alot now.

May as well get a new PSU and case, they'll last a while.

Low power GPUs are never gonna be great

idk assuming amd continues their trend the hd 8770 will be equal to a 6870 and barely need a 6-pin if at all

But hoping next gen consoles won't suck, there might actually be a reason to buy a good GPU now.
