Curious if anyone has seen the two first hand and could give an opinion of the PQ difference.

@BSC14:

You cant compare the 2, its like asking if a fan or going down the highway and sticking your head out the window keeps you cooler,

I wouldn't concider 4k unless you're getting 50' + monitor.

Get 1440p on 27' + monitor and you're good to go.

The 4k monitors have slightly higher pixel density. Not enough to make a big difference compared to a 1440p monitor or better yet - 1600p. This is because generally the screens are actually bigger. The trade off is: color, contrast, response time, cost. Not to mention worse performance no matter what you are doing. Browsers in specific you will notice added lag on 4k.

The problem with 4K is that you need like a 32" and watch it at around 2' to actually perceive all it's glory. With 1440p a 27" is good enough at around 2'6". It's up to you if you want to be staring at a monitor that big from that distance, especially when resolution isn't even the most important aspect of visual quality.

Now I googled that monitor last night and got nothing... Anyway... thanks Coseniath. I plan on picking one of these up soon and a 980 to run it. Should be nice.

You welcome.

Yeah it should be a killer combo :)
