By booting up WoW shouldn't it try to download the patch? Only to realise the patch is already there and then spend about 30 seconds checking files? Then it should patch. I might be wrong, but I'm guessing it should work.

Mine was pretty slow to. You can go into the prefrences and disable Peer-to-Peer downloading. The speeds went way up after that.

well what ive had to do is download both 3.0.1 and 3.0.2 separatly, with 3.0.2 ive gotten the file where its a bit like three comets coming down with binary codes on their tails, but with 3.0.1 its one folder with three "patching tomes" without the comet file thing, so im wondering if the 3.0.1 file i downloaded is wrong or broken or something

Hmmm,I don't know how to fix that one. I guess downloading them manually would fix the problem. After a bit of searching I found THIS site. Hope that helps. :)

Go to filefront.com or a similar file site, and download the appropriate patches (whatever number it's asking for or starts to download when you launch WoW). Just run the patch file and it installs the patch.

I hate the blizzard downloader. I have the ports open on my router and it works, but the rest of my internet slows down big time. Not sure why.

Its because its a bit torrent client, but you can't configure it. (I dont think) Most likely the number of connections overwhelms your internet connection, like it does to me, or it did when I played wow.

You have to download all the patches manually.
