Hi, I am wondering if anyone has any experience with PLASMAS as a gameing screen.

I heard Plasmas loose brightness or colour intensity in time but that was years ago.

Maybe they are not so bad now, I want to use Interpolation so my console games look like 60 fps(does it increase input lag?).

So any recommendations?

I would like for it to be big up to 60'' and not incredibly expensive, up to 1000-1500. Thanks.

That was years ago... What you are looking for is the Panasonic ST50 50" which is the best TV of the year 2012 as it provides the best performance per dollar.

Interpolation isn't going to make your games feel like their 60 FPS. It introduces a SERIOUS amoutn of input lag. It makes just abotu any game unplayable, IMHO. Also, they still won't look like they are running at 60 FPS. You'll just be adding some more blur to an already blurry console game.

Forget it. 60 FPS is somehting you're goign to need a gaming PC for, or wait until next gen (maybe - rumors are that most games will be 1080p 30 fPS or 720p 60 FPS).

Thanks, ive been going to stores and I have found the model you recommended me but i Also saw thisTX-P42ST50E which is almost half the price.

Does it have the same performance or image quality as the 50" model?

Also what is the difference between TC and TX prefix and E at the end?

That's the P42ST50B, the B stands for Britain I guess, HDTVTest are from the UK. the 42" ST50 performs exactly like the 50" ST50, but is only available in Europe. Are you from Europe?

Yes, I am from Romania, we have the E model here.

But instead of TC its labeled TX, any difference that should concern me?

Also the price is 800 US dollars, hope its not a lower end model or anything. Thats why I asked about the difference between 50 and 42".

Its the exact same TV, except 8 inches smaller, that's why its cheaper.

Ok finally ordered the Panasonic 50ST50 , I've kept looking for one, saw it, tested it,etc. now it was on offer so I grabbed one, should come in about 2-3 days.

I wonder how it will compare to my Sony GDM-FW900 which I am replacing with this TV , anyone knows if the plasma is better?

Any reccomendations on some 3D glasses? Since I saw this comes with no glasses.

Thanks.

I believe the Sony GDM FW900 will still have better picture quality than the Panasonic ST50, being a CRT, it also has 0 input lag compared to few ms on the ST50. THe ST50 produces what is the deepest black on the market today (0.009cd/m2) but I believe the FW900 has superior blacks, probably around the level of a Pioneer Kuro KRP 500-A (0.002cd/m2) but its not easy seeing the difference unless you place them side by side. the FW900 is also better at reproducing colours according to the D65 standard, but the ST50 is better than any other TV in its price range. All in all, the FW900 should have better picture quality, but it is also one of the best displays ever made, along with the Pioneer Kuro KRP 500-A, Kuro LX5090, XBR960 etc.
