Ridiculous deal if you ask me. I BTA even though I own half the DLC and still probably got a great discount on the DLC I was missing.

Can I apply the KF DLC to a copy of KF I already own? Can anyone confirm? I'd pay $3 just for the KF DLC alone, as long as I can tie it to my current game.bonafidetk
Yup that's what I did
I doubt I will, my laptop won't be able to handle it. I will be playing the first one though. :)So does this mean people will actually play Red Orchestra 2 now?

These bundles are slowly but surely emptying my bank account.
The android ones have been good recently too.

Well, I think nobody plays the first one anymore. Which is a shame because Ostfront is unique as a multiplayer game. It's hard to get that experience anywhere else.

Oh great lol. Can it be played with bots?So does this mean people will actually play Red Orchestra 2 now?

That's why I'm not jumping on this "deal." Granted, I'm sure this sale will increase the playerbase, but I'm not sure its that good of a deal for a game where the community is pretty close to dead.
EDIT: I thought it was MP only. How is the SP campaign?

You won't find a more desperate and intense experiance than in Red Orchestra Ostfront. Red Orchestra 2 had none of that feeling. I was really disappointed.
Got it wasn't really good at RO2 when I tried it during a free week, but it was still pretty fun. Killing floor will be a great coop game if I can get some friend's to buy it.
The KF community is pretty solid. I play alone sometimes and rarely find people who are obnoxious and uncooperativeGot it wasn't really good at RO2 when I tried it during a free week, but it was still pretty fun. Killing floor will be a great coop game if I can get some friend's to buy it.

i thought red orchestra 2 was pretty much dead at this point..... multiplayer games are worth nothing if nobody is playing them.Geminon
Well there's an influx of 30k new possible players in the span of half a day. But I agree, I'd be pessimistic at best that this will save the game long term.

They need to make a Killing Floor 2 already.Oh great lol. Can it be played with bots?MonoSilver
Yeah but they're rock stupid lmao. I don't think you'll come across AI that are dumber than RO's short of scripted retardation. To be fair, it's an all right experience if you want to check out the controls and the novelty of the best portrayal of bolties in any WW2 game I've played.

For the most part that's true. I think the issue lies with the setting. Stalingrad is extremely limiting, and close quarters maps + overuse of automatics doesn't make for a great time. Some of the best parts of Ostfront was coordinating troop movements and the feeling of danger whenever you saw a single enemy, let alone enemy armour.
As a testimony, I will say though, last summer (yeah that far back) I was playing a game of countdown, and that's the CS-type elimination game for you newcomers, and had some pretty crazy experiences that I haven't been able to recapture in an FPS again so far. Russians had to defend the grain elevator, the massive structure that's CQC the entire way up, and it came down to me and a single German hiding in a room. He had an MP40 and a pistol, while I was stuck with my Mosin Nagant and nothing else. I remember thinking it was a little like walking into your own execution. Now, when you draw back your bayonet and hit sprint, you let out a warcry as you charge... I figured I would never be able to get off a shot and he would just gun me down, so I had nothing to lose. When I burst into that room, I could literally see the whites of the German dude's eyes before I rammed the bayonet into his forehead. I was wondering why he didn't shoot, and when the round ended he said he only saw somebody barreling towards him screaming "FOR THE MOTHERLAND!" and he was pretty shaken up. I love that a game can do that to someone. It's almost a testament to the gritty and desperate nature of the Eastern front.

you ask for too much good sir
There are always players playing Red Orchestra 2. :) I wouldn't quite pin the game as being dead quite yet, there are plenty of dead MP games and RO2 isn't one of them...Everyone should take this chance to buy and play RO2. Its a wonderful and refreshing game. Its just a $1 peeps! Gonna buy myself another copy for the other computer. :DGamesterpheonixEveryone should buy 2 copies :)

They need to make a Killing Floor 2 already. Definitely, I love that Tripwire and the community still give the game plenty of support, but I almost have every class to level 6 at this point and want some new enemies/maps/weapons on a modern game engine.[QUOTE="Wasdie"]

I had many tense moments like that in RO2, especially because you know that one bullet can kill you. I thorougly enjoyed my time with the game. The only issue I had was its terrible launch.

Yeah, but they walk at each other in a straight line and hipshoot. They dont use all the classes or vehicles either

Heck I just played a few matches in a full UK server yesterday.

You should have also mentioned to Pokeminon that the game always remained at ~1K players at its daily peak since after release, which is the minimum of a decent community for an online shooter.

If the A.I. is stupid then it'll be like playing against myself! :D

It's more like you'll be playing against very slow, challenged children :P.
But I really hope you find a populated server (maybe the European servers are still busy) because it's just so damn good. Reminds me of when I used to play Ostfront on this laptop here with my friend every night after classes and a full 50-man battle for hours on end is a beautiful thing.
I know the feeling since I got the THQ bundle last week with Steam sales on top of that. Bought this bundle mostly for Killing Floor, never played or read much up on the Red Orchestra games. These bundles are slowly but surely emptying my bank account.

I've had my eye on the Red Orchestra games for a while. Now the decision to get them became a whole lot easier. :)MonoSilverin the same boat as you. i'm seconds away from buying them
^Ooh, are you talking about Darkest Hour and Mare Nostrum? I forgot about DH. To be honest, if RO1 is even alive at all, Darkest Hour might be your best bet. Granted it's been a while since I played, but that's where more of the NA players tended to hang out, and it was definitely a lot more populated than vanilla RO save for a few of the 50 man servers. Definitely check out DH, because there are some gameplay features in that mod that actually make it better than the original and there's a good chance you'll find people online there. Mare is completely dead aside from some really dedicated people who do private sessions, if I recall.
EDIT - DH installs and launches separately, and is pretty different than Ostfront.

Thanks. :)
Yeah those two mods are on Steam. Looks like I'll have to get chummy with the idiotic bots for a while then.
