How historically accurate is Total War: Shogun 2?

Does it pay fine detailed attention to history? or just loose accuracy?

Total war games are never super accurate. They are not realistic, but they arn't far enough away from it that they arn't entertaining.

its easily the the least acurrate total war game. most the units r made up.

Let's just say you don't buy a 'Total War' game if you want historical accuracy.

lol damn, I didnt know that. But then again - why focus on historical accuracy and realistic too much - gotta just take a game for what it is, a game.

I think TW games hit the sweet spot between historical accuracy and gameplay. Still cater to history-buffs while not being unaccesible.
