The closer you sit the worse the image quality but the furthur you sit the less immersive it gets. You gotta find a balance.
I sit about 2 feet away from my 22" monitor. What I mean is the distance between your eyes and the monitor.

I glue my monitor to my face so I can notice all teh detail in Crysis. NEED MOAR IMMERSION.
JK, about an arms length from my 23"
3 feet from my 32" 1080p panasonic lcd i use as a monitor I have it wall mounted with a full motion mount that lets me pull it out from the wall and even rotate it a complete 360 degrees! And a bit over 7 feet when i'm gaming in the 60" t.v in the living room.
Between a foot and a half and two feet away from my 17" monitor. Yeah. I haven't bought a new monitor in eight years. It still serves me well, with a whopping 12ms response time (that was really fast for an LCD back in the day). I'm still doing really well in games, and I kick ass at some, so I don't see why I would need a new one (except for the fact that I could do with a larger one).
It depends on if I am reading the monitor or typing. Between 1-2 feet, but it mostly depends on my glasses.
[QUOTE="jedikevin2"]3 feet from my 19 inch.. 9 feet from my 32 inch hdtv... Elann2008You sir, have incredible eyesight.
Not really. Just a normal position for me. Just had to bust out my handy dandy measurign tape and its actually 31.5 inches so more 2.5 feet away.
I just measured the distance with a tape measure. Between 36"-40" with a 24" 1080p LCD TV. It's a pretty big desk.
When my PC is hooked up to a 32" 720p LCD TV in the family room, I estimate around 60"-72".
3 feet from my 19 inch.. 9 feet from my 32 inch hdtv... jedikevin2Time to get bigger t.v at that distance I'd personally be looking for an 82" preferably the new 92" from Mitsubishi but at those sizes might be easier to just get a nice quality projector as you won't have to potentially knock down a wall to get it in the house and if you ever need a bigger screen your all set.
