Hi folks,

I got a Wii this afternoon and i'm trying to connect it to my HDTV (Samsung EU3D5520), however I cannot find any Red/White/Yellow sockets to put the component cable in. I have a problem.

What do you reckon?

red, white, and yellow are composite cables, which you dont want to use for a Wii on a HDTV because itll be blurry and ugly as hell. Component cables would be blue, green, red, white, and an audio red. Trust me get the component cables, might show more jaggies but the colors are so much brighter and crisper.

Haha, it turns out that I had some sort of 'green' adaptor which plugged into my TV to enable a composite connection. I've since ordered a component instead, as the initial replier said. Thanks for your time people.

Red/White/Yellow is composite video, not component. There should be an input for red, white, blue, green and another red. That's pretty much what you're looking for.

Nintendo, being cheap asses, don't give you component leads out of the box. You have to buy them seperately. (the official cables are a bit of a rip-ff)

Alternatively, if you're willing to pay a bit extra, you can by a third party HDMI converter for the Wii. It upscales to 1080p.

My Samsung Plasma has the same connection as the TC's. It comes with a special dongle that you need to hook up component or composite cables. There is no simple R/W/Y or R/W/R/G/B.

Really...that sucks. I guess component connections are going the way of compostie connections nowadays.

Thanks for the responses guys.

Yeah, I had to connect the COMPOSITE (not component, derp) through a dongle which came with the telly; however, since it looks like ass, i've invested in a component cable on the cheap off of Amazon. Should hopefully sort that out, so I can play Xenoblade and The Last Story :P

Haha, perhaps another time :P It looks alright with the component cable, though to be fair if you're playing the Wii for graphics then you're doing it wrongly xD
