Can't wait to see Australian pricing in the morning. A little worried though, I hope it's no more than $550.

Here it's very similiarly priced to the 580 - about £330($530).

Why oh why must Gigabyte continue to use blue PCBs. I like their products and would love to use a Gigabyte card in my next build, but I can't pair a blue PCB with black motherboard PCB. :|

Well, GTX 680 SLI is about 540w at full load and a 670 uses ~40w less than a 680 (single vs single @ full load).

Man it's hard to justify the GTX 680 with the 670 being so close to it in power for $100 less.

I'm thinking I have to pick up 2 of the 4gb versions for my 3x 1080p monitor setups. I was thinking of just getting a single GTX 690 sometime this year.

I have 2 GTX 570s with 1.2 gbs of ram and I'm noticing that the vram isn't enough for 3 monitors.

4GB 670 SLI would kill a single 690 and it's inadequate memory, in multi-display.

Noted.

It seems that 2 GTX 670s 4GB would be the best option. It's cheaper than the GTX 680 and 690 by quite a bit.

Hope they faze out the GTX 680 and get my GTX 685 out... What the point in having a 680 with that small of a gap in frames and cost so much more? There is no justifying a GTX 690 either. Guess Nvidia don't know wth they are doing. Make a mid range GPU into a high end card. Then take the same GPU and make a mid range card with 1-3 frames diff in games. Makes my head hurt that they are holding back the real powerful GPU, just so they can milk all the impatient buyers out there. Give us real tech heads and people that know when to buy, our card we be waiting so long for please.

When I get my 560 back from repairs I might try to sell it and gather some money to get one of these. Might wait and see some comparisons though to see if it's worth it. I hate when new shiny things come out and all I wanna do is buy one :P

Also how are they hoping to sell 680s now? :?

Very impressive card, I wouldn't buy the reference model though, apparently the cooler is bad and it also has some coil whine. Sweclockers also reviewed the Asus DirectCU II version and it got excellent feedback, all reference problems fixed.

Then why are they paying $100 more now? I much rather wait for the real deal then to be suckered by a company. Guess the GTX 680 craze is now over and they will go back into stock. Then GTX 670 is will be out of stock and then they will drop the hammer on them again.

I managed to orderGigabyte GTX 670 Windforce for £312 in Uk, Its cheaper then 7950 and 7970 here. The website raised the price to £340 after 10 minutes :) The demand must be crazy for these cards. Hopefully I will receive next week...

They screwed themselfs. Now they have a $400 card that can SLI near GTX 690 speeds. So it's not going to be $800. Then they got a card they are prob gonna faze out at $500 and fill the gap with the new one with a $600ish price tag. Is my bet.

Warranties and overclocked versions usually have better cooling fans

Not it it doesn't come with a non-reference cooler or higher quality parts.

For example the EVA standard vs the EVGA superclocked. One says it has higher memory bandwidth. The cooling seems identical.

So is there any reason to buy an overclocked version if you can do it yourself?

Mr_Ditters

If you overclock it yourself and it goes wrong, the manufacturer could potentially refuse any replacement or repairs under warranty. A factory overclocked card will retain its warranty since that is how it is supplied.
