Lies, thats too low, and is not there.
They tookout the ares asus model on the main list, so I assume they are trying to be fair and keep out the evga model too until they get sufficient benchies to measure.

Wait, you're right, it's not, it's 40. Oh haha. I was referring to the GTX 460x2 dual gpu card. This one:http://www.gamespot.com/forums/topic/27891540/evga-unveils-geforce-gtx-460-2win-dual-gpu-surprise-
How can the GTX 460 be so low when it over clocks so well. And also why is there nothing like a GTX 560 Ti SOC? that things clocks at 1GHz
I think they're going by stock speeds. Though you are right about that gpu, even my GTX 460 OC very well without touching the voltage. How can the GTX 460 be so low when it over clocks so well. And also why is there nothing like a GTX 560 Ti SOC? that things clocks at 1GHz

Exactly. But they really should include OC results too as the 460 is a powerhouse over clocker and the SOC 560 is a beast. Oh well :P
^Than the list will be cluttered. They are trying to keep it simple, each company has their own factory clocks, and thats far too many to keep track of. They took out the Ares for that reason I assume.
With new and new cards coming on, old timers are being thrown out of the list. Gosh, I wish I had a GTX 590! :P
Me lucky yes :) lolWhoever bought an 8800gtx at release might of gotten one of , if not the best gpu value in history. Stilllow highend after all this time. Great list btw.

I had 2x 8800gtxs in SLI... one failed and I got them replaced with SLI 250gts.... fo' free. That is luck
Amd just for supplementation Tom's Hardware posted a new hierarchy of GPUs yesterday...

Radeon HD4850X2 1GB Does this mean two HD4850 with each 1GB or with each 512MB and 1GB together?
Edit: My specs are a Intel Core2Duo8400@3.0Ghz, one HD4850 512MB, 2GB Ram, all running on Windows XP. Which would be the first thing to upgrade to get a perfomance improvement?

More ram first, and a new gpu like a 6950hd or gtx 560ti is a good start. You can sell your 4850 for 50-ish to add on your budget. I think you can hang on to the wolfdale cpu for another year just try to overclock it on cpu intensive games.
Adding a second hd 4850 512mb, would still mean 512mb for each gpu, though I would like to believe otherwise since two cards perform pretty well on higher res. Nevertheless the two of those is not a worthwhile upgrade without dx11 support and newer games down the pipe like bf3.
I have a Radeon 9600 Pro in my old computer. no longer top of the line but it is a step up from the shared video card and will let me play more games than I can now and will improve the graphics on those I already am playing. Most importantly save a few bucks towards something more important and I can always get something better next year
There are integrated graphics chips more powerful than your 9600pro, you are right it is not longer top of the line, it hasn't been for well over half a decade. Most relatively recent games won't run on it at all.I have a Radeon 9600 Pro in my old computer. no longer top of the line but it is a step up from the shared video card and will let me play more games than I can now and will improve the graphics on those I already am playing. what's the difference between the HD6990 and GTX590 ?

Both offer terrible drivers, so who cares
Doesnt Nvidia offer better driver support????[QUOTE="TheGrudge13"]

I have a 560 Ti and the driver support is incredible. New drivers were released a couple days ago.
GeForce.com has a performance chart for NVIDIA graphics cards http://uk.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-560/performance mbower99
Awww yeah GTX 560 Ti is the 4th best Nvidia card. Also mine is the SOC version which rivals 570 stock so Im a happy bunny :P
So currently I have a Radeon 5850, and I was wondering how much of an upgrade getting a 6950 I would get. And I also have a 650 watt PS. Would that be okay for a 6950?
Regarding the Radeon 6990 and the Geforce GTX 590. Both are very similar cards in terms of raw performance, but the 6990 has a slight edge over the 590. Although both cards go back and forth depending the game you plan on playing. What made me decide to pick up the GTX 590 over the Radeon 6990 is: much quieter; shorter, and will fit in more cases; sleeker design; better driver support, (debatable). I would not recommend these cards if your looking for the best price:performance ratio cards out in the market, but towards the end of the day if you picked one of these two cards over the other. They are both very great cards. Regarding the driver's, I can't speak for the Radeon 6990, but drivers on the 590 are constantly improving. Just my .02 cents.-xwilson7x-
thanks for the info , but i have a couple more questions :-
1) how does the 590 compaire in performence to the 580 is it a huge leap ( regardles of the price ) like will it run Metro2033 maxed out at 60FPS ?
2) will a 750w PSU be enough for the 590 or should i get a 850w PSU ?
The performance difference between the 590 compared to the 580 is roughly 20-30% in performance. Regarding maxing Metro 2033, it will run around 60fps AVERAGE. A 750w PSU should be enough for a GTX 590, taking into consideration its a reputable brand, although make sure your PSU support (2) 8-pin PCI-E power connectors.thanks for the info , but i have a couple more questions :-

I'm looking for a good video card on a budget, nothing over $100. Can someone help me out? I'm just looking for the best possible performance at that price range andnot expecting a technological marvel for the price.
