I have X3: Terran Conflict and it looks pretty cool but before I delve into the learning curve I wanted to see if anyone had any recommendations.

What I'm looking for is a good space sim action simulator.

Thanks.

Darn Freespace 2 would cost me around $180 per Amazon. Is it that good?

You have X3: Terran Conflict

thats X3, easy mode, for all intents and purposes. Lordie, lordie ,you dont wanna touch the original X3 lol

in short:

learn it
master it
love it

The return you get on X3: Terran Conflict is three times that of the effort you put into it.

so, to sum up, X3: Terran Conflict is one of the most rewarding games available.

However, if you are looking for more arcadish games, I suggest:

Freelancer, its an oldie but a goodie
Darkstar One, identical to freelancer in terms of gameplay but newer, different universe, and slightly different (you keep the same s hip, but upgrade it drastically).
