I'm going to build my own gaming PC, so I made a public wish list on Newegg with what I was thinking about getting.

http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=15899007

I already have a DVD burner, speakers, operating system, and a mouse + keyboard. I tried to go for the best bang for the buck here, I don't really want to spend more than what's there. One thing I was thinking about changing is the case, to this one:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129021

It doesn't look lame like the other one, plus it has 4 fans instead of 1. But, it would be $33 more, with a 430W PSU instead of a 500W. Antec's calculator said the system would take about 305W at 90% load, and 339W at 100% load. But, it said it would be 407W at 100% after a year of use. So, would 430W be enough? I'm not planning on overclocking right now.

So, is there any 'weakest link' that would hurt the build? Or does everything look pretty good?

Sorry for the essay post, but this is my first time building, lots of questions :D

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the reply, I just looked, the 430W doesn't have enough connectors for the GPU anyway, so I would have to get a 500W.

Props on the video card. That is the same that I use and it's excellent. You happen to be able to get it for around $60 cheaper than me though. :D

Thanks for the replies, but I'll have to think about stuff a little bit. This is the problem with building a PC, you keep adding $10, $20, $40 until the price is way higher than what you started at xD

Just a heads-up, but you may want to reconsider the case.

I have considered the Antec Sonata III before when I built my PC almost 2 years ago. I have read a lot, and my impression from reading others' reviews is that the case is relatively small (compared to other mid-tower chassis). This poses two problems: 1) heat may be an issue and 2) your video card may not fit inside the case.

The video card you chose is pretty big, so I am not sure if it will fit inside that case. Anyhow, this is just a warning. I do not own the Antec Sonata III, so I do not know what kind of issue it may have.

sonata III Is a Pretty Bad case unless they did rework it Sure Quiet but so Hot Inside Hot = Bad For Overclocking in any mean maybe instead you should maybe take an Centurion 5 + 600W PSU combo http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.208525

up to you it ur money : you know what you can pay i would like have other opinion about the sonata III 500
there is also a X4 mobo Combo deal for +30 more xepsnive : 210$ vs 239$

So that's 2 negatives on the case, I think I'll have to spring for the better one :P
