I've got the Habu, and I cannot in good conscience recommend it. The drivers that come on the disc do not recognize the mouse, and any attempt to update the firmware/drivers automatically fails - I can't even get the fix recommended on Razerblueprints won't work. However, the Death Adder looks very slick indeed - I'm considering replacing my Habu with one of those.

Using a small program, called USB something. It changes the default response time of 8ms to 4, 2 or 1 ms. U pick what speed you want, reboot and voilá.

Just checked it, it's called USB Mouserate Switcher. You can get it here , very simple to use. Works with any wired optical USB mouse, not so sure about wireless ones.

1000MHz (1ms). It feels more responsive, hard to describe, felt weird at start but it's definitely easier to pull headshots now.

The drivers on my CD worked on the second attempt, and I was able to do the update. I am using VIsta on a Mac by the way. I really like the mouse - it tracks well and is very comfortable to hold.

I agree that it's comfortable to hold - I can't honestly say it tracks well though, since it's stuck at the default tracking speed (125Hz or something).

I have a G5 and really like it, of course I haven't tried the others. I think I held a Copperhead once and didn't much care for it, but obviously it comes down to personal preference. My friend has MX518 that he would strongly recommend. I heard that MX500s are good values too.

Is the G5 "taller" than the MX310? Cause I'm kinda leaning toward a lower profile mouse, i.e. the copperhaed...but it has a 12 dollar premium on the G5 ;)

honestly, just go into any computer hardware store and poke around the mouse aisle for seeing how you like the Logitech stuff. they generally don't carry Razer stuff, though.

Really? Even the cheesy stores like CompUSA, Best Buy and Circuit city around here tend to carry Razer products. Most of them aren't open and available for trial use, but they do carry their products.

i'm very likely wrong about that, then. :) i mostly remember best buy's mouse section being pretty horrible at the 2 nearest where i live, but i was thinking in terms of the top shelves where the mouse/keyboards are out for you to look at and touch. that's good if they do carry more variety.

I know Best Buy doesn't even keep Razer products next to the input devices - they have a section generally right next to games and/or video cards where they also keep stuff like the Zboard, the Eclipse, the G15, various joysticks, racing wheels and gamepads, a small selection of Logitech mice, and of course, Razer mice (and I believe the Tarantula as well). I believe Circuit City and CompUSA also have their stores set up in a similar fashion. All overpriced, of course.

Of course, I rarely go into those stores - nearly all my brick-and-mortar shopping is done at Fry's.

I personally love the Razer mice.  I've had a Razer Diamond back for close to a year and love it.  My next mouse will definitely be one of the copperheads.  The razer I use now is very responsive and fits my hand perfectly.  Another great touch is the on the fly sensitivity.  While playing you can hold down one of the side buttons and use the scroll wheel to adjust your sensitivity for different situations.  I don't think that I will ever buy another brand of gaming mice.  Some people complain about how the mouse fits your hand, so if you can I would suggest trying it out first.

I think the Diamondback is best. I have the copperhead and its fantastic once your used to it, however the diamondback is more comfortable. The copperhead feels smooth and responsive, but so does the diamondback just as much.

I use a MX518. I like it alot. The reason I chose this over the G5 is because the MX518 had the extra button and was cheaper.

I have a Logitech G7 and I think it is the worst product I have ever had. I still suspect that its a restocked item... found a finger print on the driver CD and the manual was torn... sold and packaged as new.
Plan to get a copperhead if the money is ever here and Newegg gets the Tempest Blue in stock at the same time.

I luv my MX-510, so I bet the G5 is a good choice.

Search for reviews on google, and see if you can try them out anywhere.
