I personally think Half-Life 2's voice acting is extremely good.
Very convincing characters, if you ask me.
Doom_HellKnight
Agreed.
I can't believe no one said GTA 3, Vice City or San Andreas. The cast is stellar and the dialogues r well written and sharp. Samuel L. Jackson, Ray Liotta, Dennis Hopper...
Need say anything else?
im gonna say only the games I tried.
Starcraft -all their voices are awesome
Warhammer Dawn of War - who can't resist cultists screaming "MY SPLEEEN" and "HOW HAVE WE FAAAAILED???"
Counter Strike - "go go go" sounds cool
HL2
and other games I don't remember.
I think most of the games have good voice acting.
besides the fact that the same voice actor is used for many NPCs over and over.... Oblivion has some nice voice acting. I mean when they bring in Patrick Stewart for the voice of the king, theres just no contest right :PKool_j
Don't forget Sean Bean as Martin Septim and Terence Stamp as Mankar Camoran!
I can think of alot of games with great voice acting, but the one that really stands out is Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. Not only is the voice acting extremely good throughout the game from start to finish, but the dialogue is also excellent. And I can only immagine what the voice actors were thinking when they read some of those lines, the person doing Jeanette and Theresa for example... how she managed to pull that off so well is mind boggling.the_mad_madman
I totally agree with you! Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines has the best voice acting I've ever heard and the dialogue is also some of the best I've ever seen in a game.
Hmm, from my own experience which I enjoyed tremendously would be:
- Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines remains my favorite so far, lots of uncensored (vampire) dialog.
- Kotor I,II with first one being very well done.
- Mafia is good.
- Half Life series are great.
- Dreamfall is excellent.
- Chronicles of Riddick never gets boring.
- Call of Duty and Medal of Honor series really make so feel you're on the battlefield.
Probably quite a few more, can't recall at this time.
Fahrenheit.. duh! it must be giid in a game that is actualy an interactive movievafel
Ya i agree here. Really well done game.
Vampire has really good voice acting, yes.
But I'm still going to say Baldur's Gate, even though there's probably less dialogue which has been voiced(there's way more dialogue then any game, except those textbased adventures, don't get me wrong :P ) however, the people that did the voices for BG2 must have had some good laughs in the studio, there's dozens of weird accents and it's all pretty convincing.
Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay, hands down. TrueReligion_
Agreed, not only because they have big-name actors (Vin Diesel, Cole Hauser, Ron Perlman, Michael Rooker, Xzibit), but also because it was so well done. I also remember the lip syncing being really good as well.
Half-Life 2's was also cool, and the facial animations are just awesome. I love in "A Red Letter Day" when Barney is like "I still have nightmares about that cat" and then Alyx says "uuuuuh, what cat?" Oh, and of course the Gman telling you to "wake up, my freeman....wake up and smell the ashes."

SO thats why he sounded so familiar! Awesome, props to Bethesda for getting him in on it...though its kind of weird having Sean Bean as the hero and not the bad guy (he is such a good bad guy!).
Is so much fun going to imdb.com and seeing all the famous people in our video games. Like, for example, did you know that the guy with the beard from Weeds (the husband of the bi*** lady and father of the huskaroo girl) played the voice of Prince LaCroix or whatever it is? Never played the game but I assume its a big role.
Oh and you gotta check out the chick who played Visas in KOTOR2.....haaaaaaaaaaaaaawt
