Some details:

- 2013 release
- Main campaign is Eastern front, playing as Russians
- Lots of snow. Snow slows down troops and tanks, but can also form cover.
- Units can vault over cover such as low walls.

Cool! Hope it will fully utilize gaming rigs and not pander to console limitations. I know the first one was PC-only, but these days every developer seems to be going multiplatform.

Awesome news. Company of Heroes was a great game and I am eagerly looking forward to the sequel.

I know that one of the expansions featured Germans, but I'm thinking that they were only included because the Germans were on the defensive throughout the campaign in France. Less politically contentious.

officially excited for a new rts...doesnt happen often...but im excited for this one

I would buy it. The first was very good. Never played online, but for LANs or even skirmish it was done well.

I played it when it first launched, and it was hella buggy. My game chugged, then crashed after like one match. It had some great ideas, though really unbalanced.

As for COH 2, that's it... that's when I'm upgrading my comp :). I got this rig in 2008 to specifically play COH with my friend, it's only fitting I'll take the next step with COH 2.

2013 just got awesome. Finally, an excuse to buy excessive computer upgrades!

I'll probably check out that Eastern Front mod to get pumped.

It is worth noting that the lead designer of Company of Heroes was killed in a car crash (damn Seattle freeways, who designed that labyrinth), but the expansions for Dawn of War II have been great so hopefully this is as well.

I'd rather they'd get started on Homeworld 3 but this is interesting in its own right.

Yea this is what I thought of as well, let's hope Relic will be bought by another company if it happens - I don't really care that much about THQ TBH. all my favourite games from them are dev'ed by Relic anyways :P

I had hoped for a new Homeworld game, or DOW III, even thou COH is awesome, it's just a lil more awesome chain-saw'ing an ORC that get's a wee bit too close or having your gargantic Battleships in space open fire and watch the beautifull carnage that follows :)
