Revolver isn't making too much sense, it's more accurate but also fairly close range.
This seems harder than Borderlands 2.
Go with SMGs. Are you trying BL1 for the first time? Lilith is completely different from Maya, you should look up some guides and find out how to play her efficiently.
Perhaps it's a shitty build... but I don't remember this game being so hard.
Borderlands 2 is a piece of piss in comparison.
Got to level 28, kinda getting abit bored now. It's over-streamlined. Might just go back and play Titan Quest.
Titan Quest had a fair bit of ways to play. The skills themselves abit boring and slower compared to other ARPG's but it has many builds the player can use. Borderlands is just too fucking streamlined to last the huge amount of time it wants invested.

Are you serious? I can't even comprehend how anyone could think that.

Let's think it through together. Each bullet and or (shotgun) pellet, stands a chance of going all elemental on your enemy. More bullets and more pellets equals more electricity, or corrosion, or fire, etc. Thus, a revolver is exactly what you do NOT want to do. They are single shot. Single shot equals small(er) chance of elemental. They are out in six bullets. More load time equals less time spraying bullets/pellets for a chance at elemental.
You want high-rate-of-fire submachine gun, maybe repeaters if you get an epic/legendary one or even Bordelands 2's automatic shotguns. There is also a brand of weapon that is listed as high rate of fire but has the "fires-as-fast-as-you-can-pull-the-trigger" clause. Stay away from those. Spamming lead is fun but is usually not as fast as something with more auto to it.
You will also want clips that hold a lot of ammo within the weapon. For leveling up, look for abilities that raise your rate of fire.
In short, if you're talking Borderlands 1 you want submachine guns, and high-level repeaters. In Borderlands 2 you want submachine guns, automatic shotguns (larger magazines on these is a must), and repeater type pistols.
That new borderlands title from the Australian developers looks more interesting than 1/2 imo.
I'm sure many people have written it off as a shitty cash in but if you watch the preview vids some of the stuff they are doing is pretty interesting and seems more radical than anything Borderlands 2 ever done.
@uninspiredcup: Have you even played both of them? Saying BL1 is better than BL2 is just beyond crazy. That's like saying GTA 3 was better than San Andreas. BL2 is far better than BL1 is every possible way, especially the overall world. BL1 is nothing but tan deserts while BL2 has very varied landscapes and really nice areas. Missions are far better and more varied too. So how long have you played each of them? 5 minutes? How is BL1 even remotely better than BL2?

Yes, I do lift.
Thinking about using revolver.
I should put in this caveat that an elemental revolver is still good for maybe your snipe. Particularly...if you are referring to Borderlands 1, have a higher revolver skill than a sniper skill, or don't have a elemental sniper rifle.
