Intel i5 Ivy Bridge  3570k
Sapphire 7950 3gb
8 gb of ram.
I  can play any game on ultra except  Crysis 3 and Arma 3 ( but that's more likely  a problem with the game, it's still in Beta after all)
I don't know about best. But, my old gaming PC is still serving me well:
AMD Phenom II X3 720 BE. I assembled it in 2009 and have plans to build a new PC either late this year or early next year. I unlocked the 4th core and sometimes overclock from the default 2.8Ghz up to 3.2Ghz where it is now. I sometimes moderate the overclock to 3.0Ghz if I run across a game that's a bit too sensitive to overclocking.
I currently have a GTX 560 Ti which is adequate enough for 99.9% of games out right now. Upgrading my video card will be problematic because my Foxconn TLM-263 can take only up to a 9" long video card unless I do some major surgery on the case. Right now, the newest video card I can fit in is one of the shorter-length AMD 7870s. The 7950 and 7970 are out of reach unless I take a Dremel and cut off a chunk of the hard drive mount up front and use 90 degree-angled SATA cables. That's no biggie to me though. I'm not squeamish about modding my PC case.

Oh I said it was far from the best, not that it wass'nt good ;) the Genelecs are the 8030A. forgot that the soundcard is an asus Xonar Essense ST card.
They make for decent speakers if space is limited, so as for active speakers they do a decent job.
I game on an iMac running Linux (obviously, Gaben, I love you, kiss me) and all I play is Half-Life 2 and Left 4 Dead 2. Along with indie games exclusively, because I like to stick it to the man by tossing my money away on Kickstarter. Obviously I can run everything on ULTRA because the human eye cannot see more than 7.38 frames per second.8-Bitterness
Nice. Well done.
The current cookie cutter build is i5 3570k, 8gb ram, GTX 670/hd 7950Â

Pretty much what I'll be going for late this year, when I save a bit more money. I might hold off on the build until the 700 series is out, since the 600s will probably see a significant price drop. And if I end up with a bigger budget than expected, I might just splurge for a 700 somethin.

Haswell, 16gb, Gtx 770 or discount current gen.

Considering the size the 8030As are pretty good as long as you're not trying to monitor sub-bass. Put them against a wall and you'll boost bass too.[QUOTE="Maddie_Larkin"][QUOTE="kraken2109"] If you don't think it's good i'll take it... What genelecs do you have?kraken2109

i7 3770k @ 4.2 gHZ
16 gbs DDR3 1666 RAM
2x Nvidia GTX 570 1.2 gb GPUs
Windows 7 64 bit Professional (going to Windows 8.1 when that launches)
It's beefy yet the GPUs are really holding me back. 1.2 gbs of vRAM isn't enough, not with modern games even in 1080p. I'm waiting for the GTX 700 series to launch then pick up a card or two there.
I also boot into a 128 gb SSD and have all of my games on a 750 gig Samsung XT drive with 8 gigs of SS memory. Media is on my older 1 tb 7200 rpm harddrive.Â

this will probably be the new cookie cutter build (maybe not 16gb since RAM prices are up atm)
May as well wait for 700 series- i5-3570K
- 8 GB GSkill Ram
- X-Fi Prelude 7.1
- 460 Cyclone OC Edition 1GB GGDR5 (Soon to be a 670 in a week or two)

Have to agree with this. No point. The 670 is going to be outdated in about a month for a card that will be like $50 more, if that. Just wait.
