anti-social fatman

some of you may know him from youtube (youtube.com/user/antisocialfatman). he reviewed games on his channel. he had over 3800 extremely devoted subscribers (his channel has over 22,500 comments). some of us old guards were truly blessed to know him at gamespot. he went by a-s_fm, mfsa, fatshodan, and few other names (he was banned several times). we relished reading his arguments and gleamed something anew from his insights. we delighted in his blogs. most of all, we enjoyed his presence; we simply enjoyed talking with him about games. he was TRULY unique and a wonderful person. he died yesterday. he will be dearly missed.

Hi everyone. We have just found out that fatman (Stephen) died today from a heart attack. I was a high school friend of Stephen's and used to know him pretty well. It is incredibly tragic that he has died this way, at 27. Those who were close friends of his on the internet are really shocked and numbed by his death. The IRC room that he used to go to, up until yesterday, is now located at 24.22.81.129 in the channel #ts (just download an IRC chat client). You're welcome to come in there and talk about him or anything else if you'd like to. Also of course there's the forums that he set up. Thanks to all of you who watched his youtube videos for supporting his main project and love in his last days. RIP Stephen, aka antisocialfatman.

So a heart attack? At 27? That is an incredibly young age to get one and man alive that really sucks.

That sucks, man. Apparently he was ill with something.. I wonder what it was.

Always enjoyed his posts and videos. He's the poster I respected the most. What a shame.

always sad when someone dies too young. i remember him, or i should say his posting habits on here, very well and have had his youtube channel bookmarked ever since i learned about it. he always seemed like a very colorful character with a great sense of humor and i very much appreciated his great passion and, consequently, strong and well fleshed out opinions on all aspects of gaming. i too had been hoping he would return here one day, he'll be missed for sure..

damn, he was one of the few users on the PC forums that I actualy felt a connection with (as far as viewpoints go, not romantically lol).

This is unfortunate. I wonder if his heart attack had anything to do with his massive weight loss.

He had a real gift for reasoning with people. I didn't always agree with his point of view, but I always understood it. He also changed my mind on something I thought I was fiendishly stubborn about on several occasions.

I always assumed he would have a bright and illustrious career as a game critic. Devestating to see it cut short like this.
