well from the athalon II tri core id recommend one of their quad core cpu's. fairly easy to obtain and start relatiely cheap. whats ur budget like? you might also be able to get a six core cpu. thoguh the difference ebtween a quad and a hexa atm is pretty darn small. id avoid the phenom II x2 or x3 lineup as well as the athalon x4's as they arent really cost effective.

of the lsit there i recommend the phenom II x4 945 or 1075t
the 945 is probably the best value for your dollar (either that or the 955) as far as their quad's go and the 1075t come with a free copy of battleforge.
