Only the quad was getting halved.

The others are not going to change by much at all, especially since now you can get a 1333mhz equivalent for cheaper.

The $266 price is for 1000 at a time, obviously they cant sell it to the public at that price. ThHe cheapest is about $299

So when are stores supposed to have them in stock? Particuarly newegg. If its not by noon PST then im just gonna order my pc. $165 for a E6320 is still darn good w/o a price drop, while stores sell em a little over $200.

Intel was releasing several new processors today, such as the e6750 and e6850, the latter of which is clocked higher than the previous core 2 extreme X6800. It's clocked at 3.0ghz. Anyway, the Q6600 is not new, so obviously they have it in stock.

Yes I know about the new processors... just realised that they were talking about them lol

The way the posts are worded it is hard to tell whether they are asking about the Q6600 or new processors...

Just gonna have to wait...

WTF?

Did you read the rest of the thread?

skinnypete91

Are you going to be buying 1000 Q6600's directly from Intel?

No? Well you wont be able to pay $266 per CPU then.

The quad-core Core 2 Quad Q6600 also drops to a more affordable $530 per unit, in 1,000 unit quantities, price bracket as well.

The bulk price will be $266 (for 1000 units.) Add some markup to that, and the price should be around 300, jesus.

So? Im finding it hard to find any of the old info about the price drops. All searches just give me forum posts.. everyone is going mad about buying them today.

I assure you that $266 is the price for 1000 units, Im sure others will tell you the same. $300 is still an excellent price..

and look what I found in that thread

"Current pricing at newegg puts the retail prices of the processors approximately $2-3 over the stated

Intel bulk prices. So I guess he really meant $269."

Guess it depends on the retailer, but why do I care. I'm not even getting a quad

You didnt even read my quote or the posts I made after it.. It was a mistake, the thread was relevant to the previous price drop, when it went down to $530.

I believe one of the best current prices is $299 at newegg:
