Only the quad was getting halved.
The others are not going to change by much at all, especially since now you can get a 1333mhz equivalent for cheaper.
The $266 price is for 1000 at a time, obviously they cant sell it to the public at that price. ThHe cheapest is about $299
Wait till stores have the items in stock and then stores will start to drop their prices.Master_KevSo when are stores supposed to have them in stock? Particuarly newegg. If its not by noon PST then im just gonna order my pc. $165 for a E6320 is still darn good w/o a price drop, while stores sell em a little over $200.

Intel was releasing several new processors today, such as the e6750 and e6850, the latter of which is clocked higher than the previous core 2 extreme X6800. It's clocked at 3.0ghz. Anyway, the Q6600 is not new, so obviously they have it in stock.

The way the posts are worded it is hard to tell whether they are asking about the Q6600 or new processors...
Just gonna have to wait...

Are you going to be buying 1000 Q6600's directly from Intel?
No? Well you wont be able to pay $266 per CPU then.

I used to be able to just google "Intel Price Drops" and get a load of links to articles on proper sites.. but now they have actually happened all I get is links to forum threads with people going crazy about it lol.. Made it harder to find a decent link.
The bulk price will be $266 (for 1000 units.) Add some markup to that, and the price should be around 300, jesus.

and look what I found in that thread"Current pricing at newegg puts the retail prices of the processors approximately $2-3 over the stated
Intel bulk prices. So I guess he really meant $269."
Guess it depends on the retailer, but why do I care. I'm not even getting a quad
