[Disclaimer: I haven't played PC games since like 2006, so any game suggestions 2006+ are OK!]

I've got $300 bucks to spend! on games! PC only of course. Any ideas?

I've got COD4, World in Conflict and Crysis already.

So now I'm looking for Rise of Nations kind of games, building something, doing war, etc. any new games like that?

Also I'm becoming a big fan of COD4 (just from the videos on here), so I do like these games in which

we're a miliaty power or something.

Thanks for your suggestions!

I cant think of $300 worth of games that you would enjoy... I'd say just stick with what you have and get the Orange Box if you don't have it, and then play multiplayer TF2, CoD4, Crysis, etc... should be good times.

What are your computer specs? You might consider funding $300 there. As for games.

Must Get:

Sins of a Solar Empire

Audiosurf

Orange Box

CS:S (if you don't already have it).

BF2 or 2142 (I wouldn't invest in both. One is enough to get you your FPS fix).

Maybe Gears of War? Fun game with Co-op.

To the OP: do you have a good video card/good pc? if not u might want to buy a good video card first.

But if considering Battlefield 2 or Battlefield 2142, get BF2142. The vehicles are more balanced in that game and its a more refined game in general.

Also some general comments in regards to Battlefield 2 and BF2142:

-in Battlefield 2, there's 7 classes.....7! talk about unnessarily complex; in BF2142 there's 4.

-in BF2, jets and helicopters own the battlefield. in BF2142, as I mentioned earilyer, the vehicles are much more balanced.

-I think, in general, there's probably more cheaters in BF2 compared to BF2142. i don't have any concrete proof but on youtube there seems to be a lot more cheat videos for BF2 compared to BF2142. also, DICE (battlefield's develoer) said they would stop releasing patches for BF2. the last patch was Nov 2006 iirc. if you don' beleive me, look it up on google (don't make me do that work for u).

I have a GeForce Go 7600 in my laptop and I can run games like Half-Life 2, Condemned, BF2, Penumbra Black Plague and Doom 3 all on high on 1024x768 at 30+ fps. So if his 7900GS is better than my card (which I presume it is) then he doesn't have to upgrade his video card unless he wants to run Crysis on high at 30+ fps.

Oh yeah, I also have a 2GHZ Core 2 Duo and 2GB Ram which I'm very happy with.

Considering the games you have, you must have a pretty good PC, so the games I recommend that I find really, really fun are:

Warcraft III Battlechest

Battlefield 2: The Complete Collection

The Orange Box

Guild Wars + expansions (Guild Wars 2 coming soon though)

Starcraft II (is coming out, seriously get it! Save your money to get it! It's like the Halo/Gran Turismo/Mario for the PC, practially)

RTS and FPS & (MMO's) are the PCs forte, so... yeah have fun, dude!

i agree, get a new video card, ur present card is pretty weak. get a geforce 9600gt, 8800 or ati 3870. all 3 are fast cards. the 9600gt goes for $149.99 on newegg.com.

I think you'd really enjoy Sins of a Solar Empire. It's kind of a like a cross between Civilization and an RTS, and it's set in space. You should also try Supreme Commander, although I would just get the Forged Alliance expansion pack, which can be played as a standalone, and forget the original game. SC is entirely a skirmish/multiplayer game, and Forged Alliance makes some massive improvements, both in terms of unit balance and in the interface, which was kind of clunky in the original game.

You can play as any of the four races. Forged Alliance is a standalone. You don't need the original game. And as I said before, it fixes the cumbersome and confusing interface from the original game, and fixes a lot of issues with unit balance.

4gb's of RAM is way more than plenty. and good luck with the 9600GT.

but if u plan on gaming online i suggest battlefield 2142. search youtube for videos to see what it is like if ur uncertain (do this for any games u are considering). but again, i suggest bf2142 over bf2 because bf2142 is more balanced and more streamlined (less classes to learn and take into consideration).

BTW, for both battlefield 2142 and bf2, there's a free mod (that's also a tiny download) that lets you play OFFLINE, single player with up to 128 bots (if ur computer can handle it) on full size maps (default in game is to only allow 16 bots on the smallest maps). but again, only 128 bots if ur pc can handle it. i have a c2d processor 1.67ghz and my pc can only smoothly handle maybe 70 bots.
