Poll 1080p@120fps or 2K@90fps or 4K@60fps? Which one do you prefer? (14 votes)

1080p@120fps 21%
1440p@90fps 50%
2160p@60fps 36%
I prefer cancers on consoles 14%

Assume you have a 4K 144Hz Monitor with a decent PC comes with i7 8700K, 32GB DDR4, GTX1080Ti.

That allows you to run the most demanding games on max settings at those given resolution and framerate.

Which one do you prefer and why?

@undefined: I prefer 3440x1440/120hz G-Sync because ultra wide is the shiznit and that's the way I roll. :)

While I've never gamed at 2k. Theres a huge difference between 4k and 1080p. Ive never really noticed fps while gaming except for racing games, and since im not huge on racing games ill go with 4k at 60fps.

Enjoying fake checkerboard 4k and w.e res upscaled to 4k with ps4 pro. Taking a break from PC cause the ram prices is preventing from doing an overhaul atm. Also uhh 2k is sort of 1080p. I think you mean quad hd resolution. Ideally I'll want 4k on a nice tv and a smaller high refresh monitor. Not a fan for high end monitors since due the diminishing returns you get from performance/features/fidelity.

I enjoy 5760x1080 - games that support it are more entertaining at this resolution. You get more screen taking up your vision, helps keep you focused in the game world. At this resolution, anything over 40fps is good enough for me, though ideally I like when I can hit 60+fps, but it depends on the game and graphic settings I use.

There are several HDR monitors. The best ones are 4K/144hz HDR G-Sync and are around $2000 USD. There is a 3440x1440/200hz HDR G-Sync coming out which will also be ridiculously priced. The sad thing is none of them feature dynamic HDR (Dolby Vision or HDR10+) and only have HDR10. So, they are insanely priced and not even fully featured for HDR. Not worth it.

^ ya you are missing the best, ultrawide resolutions. 16:9 is really dated and lacking in immersion.

No, it's not. I'll probably never go ultrawide, because I don't like curved screens and have no issue watching 4:3 movies and playing old 4:3 games. I also switched my phone camera from the default 16:9 option to the 4:3 option because of how useless 16:9 is for most photos. I have all this useless visual information on the sides. I know the only reason Hollywood went ultrawide in the fifties is because they feared televisions. 16:9 is fine. The aspect ratio of human vision is closer to 5:3.
