Cube World Talk Thread

Anyone get Cube World yet? Are you enjoying it? Thinking about getting it sometime?
It has been getting alot of good press lately as far as the actual gameplay goes.  They had some issues on there site and registration but its all fixed now.

The game has been called a cross between Minecraft, Zelda, Terraria and WOW. Just wondering what peoples thoughts and impressions on the game are!

Would be fun to get a group of GS members together for some missions sometime on this.

Seems interesting but every time I've gone to check it out they're site has been "under maintenance" due to the DOS attacks they've been dealing with.  With that said, I was just now able to create an account.

The site is back up now today finally hehe, I registered today finally to. Tried it for a few hours at a friend splace this week and it is pretty fun, although there is a TON I havn't learned about yet hehe. Nice to see Indie games doign so well atm, along with all the kickstarter stuff. Awesome time to be a pc gamer and indie fan imo.

Let me know if you end up getting it! Would be fun to get a few people from GS together and have some fun on this.

Yeah I was to! I kept hearing about it but never reallly fully looked into it, after watchign soem live streams this week I told myself I gotta get this at some point :P

Looks like another indie game, vox i think it was called. Is the in an alpha state, also how would you describe the combat is it simmilar to minecraft? thanks for shareing!

Just learned what it is like 10 minutes ago and I am sooooo tempted to buy it. I wish it was 10 EUR though and not 15. I don't know if I'd play it a lot and the steam sale is ehre too but I really like teh look of it

Nothing good on sale on steam sale today so caved in and got Cube World :P

I wish there was a building mechanic like Minecraft though. 

Some good videos on youtube if you are not sure what to do starting off.

Just search Cube World tips or something along those lines. Can learn about the crafting, pets, mounts,etc..

Yeah, those expecting a Minecraft like experience are going to be sorely disappointed.  Fortunately, I knew what the game was going in so I'm fine with what it is.

Yeah has a little bit of different games in it, the combat and boss focus reminds me of terraria more than minecraft. Liking the crafting and pets/mounts atm to :)

Controls are nice and smooth to, after playing so long on minecraft hehe. Will be interesting to see how the updates go, and what gets added over the next while.

I knew it wasn't like that, I just wish it had it. I love the aesthetic of Minecraft though and a little MMO/RPG in that is really cool.

I've been trying to avoid the videos and have just been running around trying to figure things out for myself (with varied success).  It seems everything in the game wants me dead for some reason. :o

I've read that they're going to add housing eventually which should be a nice addition to a game like this.

This video is good to, if you want to see a playing now just goofing around. They both have Mounts and are rippping around, good watch.

I watched a bunch of gameplay yesterday and bought it straight away this morning, no regrets. Can't wait to get some friends into it. 

Cruising along with my pet is hilarious, cotton candy given to the Sheep worked wonders

Ran into one village and this dude helped me against these goblins lol was awesome. Then I saw I could buy some armor and stuff at the shops near by hepled to :P

Okay... So I have created a character. I have ran around the world not knowing where I am going. I have been killed by everything except for sheep and chickens. What do I need to do to level up?... In general what do I do? :(Grey_Eyed_Elf

Use your map to find the nearest town. You're going to want to try to fight things on the outskirts of town to level up. Also, the general store sells a random pet food that you can use to tame an animal to help in combat.

Watch some of the videos I posted, check out the wiki or just learn it all yourself.

I couldn't find a town or a city in my original world to save my life so I broke down and checked the Wiki. I had no idea that the "seed" you put in when you start a world affected anything. I couldn't have been more wrong. Oops!

Me and a friend just played 5 hours together on this haha, played much more than we expected. takeiteazy joined us for half of it to, was good times working together. Server was easy to set up to. Was funny when we all had pets and doing battles lol. Want a glider and boat so bad now haha

The game is horrible, kind of a mix between the witcher without the good graphics, epic battles and awesome cutscenes, a korean grindfest without blood and simplified minecraft graphics... and don't be fooled, the game has nothing in common with minecraft other than it's made of square. The crafting is your generic choose your recipe and push a button. Overhyped game that's all.masterdrat

It's like the Witcher?  Huh?  Without the "epic" battles and "awesome" cut-scenes?  Really?  :lol:

i am pretty tempted to get it, but i got minecraft in alpha and by the time it was released i was sick of it. I think i will wait for this one so i don't ruin the experience.
