Hi! My boyfriend and I are looking for games to play on the same network. We both like RPG's, and I'm not too into shooters. We played Dungeon Siege a while but it got grindy. We're getting Dungeon Siege 3 for the XBox soon, but until then, what PC RPGs or any games that maybe aren't too hard-core are good for couples and co-op LAN?

Free MMOs would work, too. =)

Thanks so much! ^_^

Diablo 2. Best played on LAN and incredibly addictive.

I don't know about lan, but Neverwinter Nights 1/2 is great for co-op.

And the NWN vault has a ton of great modules which are alot better than the official campaigns, which were not good, btw. (the expansion Hordes of the Underdark for NWN1 and Mask of the Betrayer for NWN2 are pretty damn good though)

The graphics are fine really. Sure its a bit low res, but it looks good since it looks all drawn. Dont pass this game up just because of the graphics though.

No recommendation for Titan Quest? The game is the best looking Diablo-clone and has the best gameplay out of any of them. It has a demo you 2 could check out also to see if you both enjoy it.

Yeah, I'm downloading the Titan Quest demo. I'm a bit skeptical about it, but hope it works out. Thanks =)

Steam games are okay, too. My hubby love Terraria if anyone knows games like that. =)

Titan Quest and immortal Throne. It's easy on normal, and the co op is easy with 2 people, so just try and get through normal as quickly as possible.

I just played that today after recovering a Battle.net account that had Diablo II and the LOD expansion on it. My son tried the game for the first time and enjoyed it but got sick of seeing his inventory get full and hearing the same annoying messages he hears in WoW in relation to the inventory being full. I look forward to playing this sometime together with him but is LAN play the only option now ? I saw Battle.net online options in the game menu but is this no longer available ?

The Battle.net still works but most of the games are either trade games, baal runs, rush games, or duel games. If you want to play with a friend I would recommend lan over battle.net.

Diablo 2 is incredible when playing with a friend.

If you're worried about graphics, you can get the high resolution patch online. If you decide to get that mod, you have to patch your Diablo 2 game to only 1.12, because it won't work on 1.13. That's only if you want to play LAN.

Thanks you guys! Yeah, we played Fable when we first met and loved it, but then got bored after end-game. Thanks for telling me about the high-res patch! I didn't know. And we're planning on getting NWN too :) Thanks so much!!

I was going to comment on this as well. Trine 1/2 has 3 player co-op if you want to make someother subtle implications.

Of all the games recommended, might as well give Path of Exile a try (F2P top-down RPG ala Diablo). Not sure if it's played over LAN or not, never attempted to since it's beta just released last week and I've nobody to play with over LAN. The engine is very solid and I think it'd be worth giving a shot.

Ya know, they prodably didn't have Torchlight 2 when this thread was made. It's two years old.
