SO, whats your top 10?
oblivion
guildwars
morrowind
daggerfall
diablo
ff7 (was released for pc, believe it or not)
gothic (didnt play the full game or own it but a friend lemme try it out for a day or so)
fate (diablo knockoff)
alien hunters: vengance
diablo 2
Anything recent? ^_^.
PrincessxShadow
vengance is recent (2007) plays alot like diablo, its a sci-fi rpg much like the first fallout, but the atmosphere is much darker and the environments are a little bit interactable.

Have you tried mods for oblivion?they make it a totally different experience.DLC and xpac too are great.Other then that dunno bout top ten, but my fav recent rpgs are
The Witcher (Play enhanced edition)
Fallout 3 (If you like oblivion, it's hard not to like this)
Neverwinter Nights 2 (Really good IMHO esp. now after lots of patches and tinkering with controls+camera)
Mass Effect (Just beat it yesterday, it was really good, and has great replay)
World of Warcraft (If you like MMOs)
Morrowind (Heavily modded makes it look WAY better and plays much better)
Gothic 3 (With the mod that fixes lots of problems with the game)
Fable: The Lost Chapters (Not the greatest, but decent enough)
The Last Remnant (Never played it, but PC version is supposed to be OK)
Knights of the Old Republic 1+2 (Old now but not sooo old and it's fully voice acted at least)
Jade Empire (Again not that new, but fully voice acted and newer then KotOR at least)
My top 10 (in no particular order):
- Ultima VII: The Black Gate
- Ultima Underworld 2: Labyrinth of Worlds
- System Shock 2
- Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn + Throne of Bhaal
- Icewind Dale 2
- Neverwinter Nights: Hordes of the Underdark
- Fallout 2
- Diablo
- Diablo 2
- Deus Ex
Ein-7919
Excellent list, though I haven't played Icewind Dale 2. Slap KOTOR on there

1. Betrayal at Krondor
2. Betrayal at Krondor
3. Betrayal at Krondor
4. Betrayal at Krondor
5. Betrayal at Krondor
6. Betrayal at Krondor
7. Betrayal at Krondor
8. Betrayal at Krondor
9. Betrayal at Krondor
10. Betrayal at Krondor
Seriously, all other RPGs are clownshoes compared to this game. I can't believe that no one has mentioned it yet.
planescape torment,Baldurs gate 2,Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines,KOTOR 1,The Witcher,Arcanum,Morrowind.
I hope I can add Divinity II, Arcania and Dragon Age to the list this year :D
ps.: I never tried Betrayal at Krondor. Something inside me says I need to play this game...
Betrayal at Krondor? That game is from 1993... A little old IMHO.Most people arn't THAT desperate.
pfloydguy84
What does playing old games have to do with being desperate? Good games are good games, reguardless of their age.
10. Gothic 2
9. The Witcher
8. Dragon Wars
7. Ultima Underworld
6. Fallout
5. Gothic
4. Ultima VII
3. Wizardry 8
2. Planescape: Torment
1. Ultima VI
I'm not going to go in 10 top but I'll list my favs.. As for my number one rpg it has to be Diablo II hands down!
Other awesome rpg's to me would have to be:
- Mass Effect
- Elder Scrolls 3 & 4
- Fallout 3 (I wish I could also say 1,2 but to be honest I never played them but I know they're worth mentioning)
- Stalker soc/cs ? I think you can count those as rpgs?
- If you want to start counting MMO Rpgs.. well then of course WoW.
- Knights of the old republic 1
These are all the ones that come off to the top as the best pc rpgs that I've played :)
Lol totally. How lame do you have to be to like crap like Ultima and Doom? Everyone knows the best RPG ever is Oblivion and Crysis is the greatest shooter ever.Betrayal at Krondor? That game is from 1993... A little old IMHO.Most people arn't THAT desperate.
pfloydguy84
Baldur's Gate series
Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines

Hahaha, oh wow.
A game can never be too old. Betrayal At Krondor is better than all the games released this year for example.
Thank you.Well i like hack'n slash rpgs best:
1 Diablo 2 LoD
2 Dungeon Siege
3 Sacred
4 Dungeon Siege 2
5 Fallout 2
6 Morrowind
7 Sacred 2
(other games i cant name in position)
Mine are,
Baldurs Gate and Tales of the Sword Coast
Baldurs Gate 2 and Thorne of Bhall
Temple of Elemental Evil
Neverwinter Nights 2 and expansions
Fallout 3
Oblivion and Expansion
The Witcher
Although its an MMO World of Warcraft
Thats it for me WOW is questionable, other games that i enjoy which are loosely RPGs are Stalker and Dawn of War 2.
