That P4 will be a major bottleneck. You most likely won't be able to go over 1280x1024 without having a major decrease in performance.

Well, thats what I`m exactly going to do, though I`m not happy about it. Got a Pent.4 -3.6, the 8800 gts640. and two gig ram.

I won`t get to play it on high settings probably, my new computer is next year, after Phenryn(spelling?) and hopfully, nvidia 8900.

So youv`e got company, at any rate. Wish someone was a little more positive, but why lie if thats how it really is.

It clearly goes beyond resolution. I just used it as an example.

But if im not mistaken, they did say they were gonna optimize it for single cores processors. Lets hope so. Coz if crysis looks fantastic on a single core....

Yeah, good observation.

Crysis is suppossed to be getting designed for wide play. But how wide, since duo-core of some sort has been out a while, now. One would hope that a good(former higher end)single core, perhaps with HT, with a recent video card might have a chance at respectable performance and good graphics.

FYI you can get a good processor for extremely cheap that can run crysis MUCH better than that P4 ever could:

X2 4200+ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103741

Pentium E2140 (If you're gonna OC) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16819116037

Good mobo for the X2 4200+ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138081

Good OCing mobo for the E2140 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16813128059

And you might wanna pick up some DDR2 RAM for about $80 if you have regular DDR.

It'll run on a higher clocked P4, 3.0 GHz being the minimum.
