So I can't decide on which to get.

120gb ssd and 1tb hard drive

Or

1tb hybrid hard drive

Or

2tb hybrid hard drive

I heard that hybrids are almost just as fast as ssd's but a lot less expensive. Even if I get the 2tb hybrid I would be saving more money than getting the ssd and hard drive.

SSD and HDD all the way, but try to push your budget to AT LEAST 256GB SSD. 120GB is just too small once updates and programs kick in.

(and no, Hybrids aren't as fast as SSDs)

120GB will fit your OS and a decent amount of normal software, but if you have lots of software or want room for games get a 250GB. Either way, make sure things like documents are on a normal HDD rather than wasting SSD space.

What Felipe said.

250GB Samsung EVO SSD and 1TB WD Blue would be a good and inexpensive combo.

If only WD made a 2TB version of their latest 1TB Blue. Suppose they have to keep their Black series alive.

Also, another good tip for smaller drives is disable hibernation and decrease the page file size.

HGST for hdds. They last a hell of a lot longer, though I'm not sure if that's carried through for WD's purchase of them. Their new nas drives are SICK though. It's worth a few bucks premium.

As for SSDs...Even a 256 is small now. With new games being so huge (GTA 5 will be 65gb!) your' better off saving money for a 64/128 boot drive, then getting a 512 when you can afford it. At least you could put a few more games on it by then!

Hybrid is good in case you want to boost only your system boot time and shutdown.

Get an SSD+HDD and you will wonder how you ever lived without it. I have no experience with hybrids.

Get a Samsung 850 Pro, i think it has something crazy like a 10-year limited warranty too.

Also, if you get 2 SSDs in RAID0 you can get up to 800-900 MB/s read and write speeds.
