So I bought a gaming pc on ebay. I got it cheap and yeah I know it hasnt got the best spec but in terms of performance and graphics tell me what games can I run on this at good speed. Also will it play games of the last gen games on the 360/ps3 era ect. I am not a hardcore gamer and don't expect to play games at ultra resolution but I wanted a machine thats half decent.

pc is in link

PC should play most games just fine... Just a fair warning that PC does not have an operating system, so you will need to purchase Windows 7 or 8 or whatever you plan to do with it.

Ok that sounds great is that most games in 720p? But do you think it will play games of the next generation such as ps4/xb1 if them games are ported to pc. I mainly want it for old school games to be honest but its good to know if it has enough power .

Probably something in the lower tier quality wise with something like Assassins Creed IV. You may be able to get medium out of 720p though. The only thing with 720p on monitors is that is letterboxes it I do believe.

ok sounds alright. I am planning to play it on my 50 inch hd tv will this effect anything from playing on a normal pc monitor and what controller pad would you recommend for games on pc? I hate keyboard and mouse for gaming.

I don't have much experience PC gaming on a HDTV, so I cannot answer that one... As far as a controller goes I use a wired Xbox 360 controller because most games that support a controller use Xbox button layouts.

it should be fine, I play on my 38" tv. And I recommend a 360 controller as well, I have a ps3 controller at the moment and have problems in a few games, where I read that the 360 controller is fine. You should be fine at 720p, since your gonna be sitting really far back. Im curious, what old school games will you be playing?

You shouldn't get any letterboxing in 720p, unless your monitor is not 16:9. 1080p is a 16:9 aspect ratio, so a 1080p monitor will display 720p with no letterboxing. A 1200p monitor would letterbox at 720p since that's 16:10, but most games should also support 800p (1280x800) for that.

hey Ok, sounds very promising indeed at the moment from everyone. Well games like resident evil 1-3, age of empires 2, final fantasy 7, 8 sonic adventure 1,2 on steam., I also want it for old ps1, genesis and snes games but I won't go into that to much as gamespot doesn't like it lol. I wouldn't mind gamecube on it but i think it wouldn't be able to handle it.

I can give you that, case looks pretty sweet.

But your GPU is 6670 which is pretty old, I've had 5770 lately and it was ok for nowdays gaming, some games on low some on med, some on high.

I do need to mention I was playing on 1080p and while you're planning to run games on 720p then you should be more than fine.

2nd one is overkill in RAM, I can't find a reason to have 16Gb for gaming (8 will do), 650Watt PSU for that GPU is overkill as well, the GPU on the 1st rig is better in about 20%.

So I'd still wait for the 1st PC or build yourself one but DONT order the 2nd one, it's a downgrade not an upgrade.

The second has an FX6300 which fares much better on games compared to the new Fx4xxx with cut down L3 cache. Also it has a 7750 which is way faster than the 6670 on the first pc

You could argue if the price is worth it but its much faster than the 1st one

You misread the topic creators link. The computer has a 6670 yet your posting a comparison between the 6770 and the 7750 (that's not correct).

The graphics card in the first link is a HD 6670 which is about 28-30% slower than a 7750 http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/HIS/HD_7750_iCooler/26.html

WAT oops, my bad XD for some sort of reason the 6770 is stronger of the 7750 and the 7750 is stronger than the 6670
