And don't start with "graphics aren't anything," 'cause if that were the cause, I'd just play Duckhunt on the NES instead of PC games.
You gotta remember Stalker's graphics were meant to be amazing at 2004.ElectricNZOk, here's 2004 :P

Stalker may not have the best textures but its ahead of every game in the lighting and shadows dept. Even HL2 ep1 doesnt have true hdr with real time lighting and soft shadows.
This runs smooth on my X800GT/1GB/AMD 4000+ PC.

First of all, many of the locales in the game are modeled after locales in the Chernobyl area; I mean, how cool is that? Second, check out a preview where the bullet dynamics in the game are discussed. Theoretically, I could shoot a guy hiding behind a corner by firing against the wall and having the bullet ricochet into him. That alone gets me all excited. Look at the the AI, the diffierent aspects of survival in the game, the possible politics involved with the five different factions, or how freakish the enemies will be. You have gotta peek underneath the surface, man. So don't start with the old "And don't start with "graphics aren't anything," 'cause if that were the cause, I'd just play Duckhunt on the NES instead of PC games" line. New games bring new graphics AND gameplay.
