I was thinking, instead of sticking a optical in my case, hows a bout a external drive.

I mean i know it work in the OS itself oviously.

But if i want install windows, or somehow boot some other cd/dvd of of it, would that even work ?

I mean does the external get recognized in the post and or bios as a bootable device ?

Yup. It works.

Just select USB Disc Drive as your primary boot device when installing Windows/.

The only suitable drive i could find was a buly flimsy asus model, so i think ill just get some internal drives instead for my new system.
