Unreal Tournament 2015 Alpha 2.0 is out

Download the Unreal Engine launcher and there will be an option for Unreal Tournament. Only one map is finished, seen below. The rest have placeholder graphics.

I tried it last night and the matchmaking was broken and the game froze. So, I only got to play against bots for a bit. Game feels good though.

What is the current status of this project? I was looking through the forums and people were arguing about the movement, talking about adding dodge and wall run etc.

One finished map after 10 months is not particularly great progress. I also saw there are only two character models.

When will they start making some serious content for the game?

No worries. I will definitely play it again. I used to play the old UT games quite a bit. Just playing with the bots put a smile on my face. :)

current status is pre-alpha

obviously epic and modders will release the content as soon as its ready to be tested.

They released a lot more stuff since the last alpha. It has far better menus, more maps, ect. Feels far better than before.

@Grey_Eyed_Elf: Those don't look good at all. You're FOV is making them look all stretched out or something. Adjust your FOV and try again.

Its not my fault the game right now doesn't fully support 21:9... so no matter what FOV I use it looks either zoomed or stretched.

Will there be a console version?

Nice necro. A console version is possible, but it is not planned at this point. Why would you want to play this on console? This is a twitch shooter. It would be terrible with a controller.

its impossible on consoles at this point. Its a completely free game and microsoft/sony wouldn't get anything thing in terms of profits unless Epic allows them a cut.

Not impossible. It would be no different than other free to play games on console. Epic is positioning itself as more of a service provider now and their launcher platform is a self contained marketplace on PC. So, they will see how it goes on PC and may want to tap into the console market at some point for more profits.
