Steam Booster Packs

What are they? Seen you can sell some cards for like a few cents or turn them into gems to make Booster packs.

I really don't see the point in the gems as you need sooo many to do anything. Booster packs are a random collection of 3 cards for a particular game. You get them at random depending on your rank/level.

@klunt_bumskrint: what are the cards for? Do you sell them like the other cards?
