Should I upgrade this mobo?

i have a real piece of crap ASUS P5N- SLI Nforce 570 mobo for my core 2 duo e6600 and 8800GTS

it doesnt do "True" 16x SLI, only 8x

should i upgrade?

also, i dont overclock much (not recently anyway) and i dont have an SLI config. (although im thinking about slapping another GTS in there)

To be honest, Motherboards these days, that i know of any way, don't even have the required amount of buffer to run a video card at the full x16 bus speed. Although Im sure in time it will, you have a fairly decent motherboard, i'd stick with it for now.

If I were you yes I would upgrade it... The 5xx series does not support quad core. And even if you get a 650i it will be loads better. I absolutely hate the 5 series (for Intel the AMD models are top equipment). Somehow nVidia botched the Intel versions of this chip.. A 650 would do you wonders.

True... Until he wants a quad core... But yeah... Save your money until you want SLI or something... As by then Nvidia should have better drivers for that... No wait you don't have vista right? so SLI will just work... Just don't fix it unless it's broke or you are really board... In which case I recommend breaking it so you can fix it...
