Age of Mythology and maybe Warcraft 3 (not sure).

You should upgrade your PC. It's a freaking dinosaur.

Age of Mythology, Curse of Monkey Island, Freedom Fighters, Max Payne etc might work.

#11 Posted by nameless12345 (15125 posts) -

Everything up untill 2001. Some later games may work too (I can confirm all games with Quake 3 engine, NOLF1, Operation Flashpoint without Resistance, Black & White 1, Soul Reaver 2, Sacrifice, Project IGI, ect. Unreal Tournament 2003 may work too).

Doom 1 on low settingsbiggest_loser

lolwut?

Doom 1 runs perfect on a 486 PC

Go to GOG.com (good old games)

There are a plethora of wonderful titles to choose from that you could run with no probs.

I heartliy recommend:

Shogo: Mobile Armour Division - An FPS with mecha's and a great story!

Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magic Obscura- A brilliant ans engaging Steampunk RPG.

Outcast - An FPS and massive sandboxy adventureOnly $4.19 right now! BUY IT!

And of course...

Baldurs Gate - This is still a fantastical price for one of the best games of all time.

Other great games like Icewind Dale and Pychonauts are at $9.99. Blood 1+2, Independence War, Alone in the Dark are all on sale at $4.19. Get over there my friend.

Killing Floor :D

Iantheone
I personally think he doesnt have enough RAM to run it.

Get hold of 3d Analyze to simulate hardware t&l for games that require it. You should be able to run Morrowind (use Morrowind FPS optimizer if you encounter any issues), Deus Ex, Thief and Thief 2, Sacrifice and Mafia without any trouble. There's plenty more you'll be able to enjoy but these are the ones I can think of which are currently installed on my netbook with GMA950.
#17 Posted by volcanexploder (51 posts) -
i have 3d analyzer and i can run age of empires 3 at 10-15 fps but the menu of the game sucks 'cause i don't have T&L
#18 Posted by tequilasunriser (6378 posts) -

Sid Meier's Pirates! should run ok depending on the settings. It's worth looking into if you've never played it.

It plays fine on my 3 year old non-gaming laptop.

I'm gonna echo GoG. It has so many good old games you will keep yourself busy for months. Best part is the games are all either $6 or $10. My favorite ones from the service are here with an explanation as to why. All of them but Unreal Tournament 2004 (try the demo, I am unsure if it will work) will work flawlessly on older systems.

If you want to do a little work you can get modified drivers.

Then after installing those you can make a registry file and add in each game you want.

This will switch hardware T&L and vertex shaders to work on software (CPU).

I do this on my laptop;

Intel Celeron M 420 1.6ghz

1gig ddr2 667mhz RAM

Intel gma 950

Windows 7 ultimate

And I can run most games from last gen on med-high settings.

The big limit you have on your system is only 512mb of RAM.

You can pick up RAM for very cheap.

512mb of laptop ram only cost me around 6USD

#21 Posted by volcanexploder (51 posts) -
i can't find modified drivers for my GMA 3000 . I have searched but there are only for other gma like 950 945 x3000
#22 Posted by volcanexploder (51 posts) -
unreal tournament 2004 runs at high settings i went to www.systemrequirements.com/cyri and the games runs on recommended requirements
#23 Posted by volcanexploder (51 posts) -
can someone tell me if lineage 2 requires hardware T&L
#24 Posted by marcogamer07 (1615 posts) -

That thing lies, don't use it. On my old computer I checked to see if I could run Fallout 3 and it didn't even meet the recommended requirements according to the site, yet I was able to play it on high settings at 20-30 FPS. It also said that I passed the recommended requirements for Crysis, couldn't even run it on high settings...

#25 Posted by volcanexploder (51 posts) -
i know that but it sometimes it says the truth i met all the requirements
#26 Posted by fend_oblivion (6195 posts) -

Then you should try checking the game on your PC and confirm whether it works.

Happy gaming :)

The 3000 is similar to the 950 so you can try those drivers and see.

The drivers are called code Sherry or something like that.

Just make sure to have the default intel drivers downloaded so if the modified drivers don't work you can reinstall the default one.

#28 Posted by volcanexploder (51 posts) -
thnx i downloaded it and now i'm going to install it

A GMA 3000 is better than the ATI X1200 of my 2007 Toshiba laptop which was able to play just fine the following games: Battlefield 1942/DCX, Pacific Fighters, Red Alert 2, C&C 2, Quake 2, and the original Homeworld. Those were with Vista installed. When I had XP installed, I was able to add C&C: Generals.

#32 Posted by nameless12345 (15125 posts) -

Maybe it would be smart to invest in a used graphics card, for example a Radeon 9600 PRO. You can get those very cheap and they will not only make games which require T&L playlable, but also games that require Pixel Shaders (up to 2.0 version for this card). Just make sure you have the AGP slot.

#33 Posted by volcanexploder (51 posts) -
no , the setup for the modified drivers
#34 Posted by thebest31406 (3489 posts) -

Deus Ex, Diablo II, Fallout 1 and 2, and Starcraft should run.

#35 Posted by fend_oblivion (6195 posts) -

Commandos and Urban Chaos (not Riot Response) will also work on your system.

#36 Posted by MindlessTeef (1392 posts) -

Old classics! I still play Wizardry 8 and Jagged Alliance 2... and System Shock 2! The original Majestywas rather good as well. Lots of old classic games to keep youbusy till you can upgrade... I have been there before as well. More random classics that come to mind; X-COM (first 3), Fallout (first 3), Star Control 2, Red Alert 2, Doom 1 and 2 and Duke Nukem 3d with itsgraphics pack.

What is your favorite genre? RTS, FPS, RPG... ?

I was buying some stuff at Amazon.com and I needed around 5 USD more to get free shipping so I looked around and found some RAM.

It was on a deal when I got it.

But that was just old laptop RAM.
