Need help with buying a GPU.

I'm on a tight budget so I'm looking for a cheap GPU to get me by for a couple months until I can actually get a decent PC. Here are the 2 I've been looking at. I just need help with what are the differences between the 2 and which one I should go with for the best performance. Thanks.

GTX 650 Ti
Core Clock: 928MHz
1GB - 128 bit
768 CUDA Cores
Effective Memory Clock: 5400MHz
In Other Words: Better Cooler, Less VRAM, Lower Core Clock, Higher Memory Clock, Twice As Many Cudas.

GTX 650
Core Clock: 1071MHz
Effective Memory Clock: 5000MHz
2GB - 128 bit
384 CUDA Cores
In Other Words: Worse Cooler, More VRAM, Higher Core Clock, Lower Memory Clock, 384 Less Cudas.

650ti is faster

GTX 650 Ti is faster indeed but it's lagging behind on VRAM.
Although that shouldn't be a big deal since he's planning on upgrading in few months.

650Ti, the bitrate of that 2Gb of VRAM isn't fast enough anyway, you'll have to SLI to get it's full potential.

That 2 gb will never make up for those cuda cores. The 650ti is hands down the best card here.

Ok thanks for the help. Does the Ti require more PSU power compared to the regular one? I only have a 300W PSU :(

GTX 650 - 64W
GTX 650 Ti - 110W
It's not a good idea to run these kind of components on a crappy PSU.
You should at least get a Corsair CX430 if you want to run GTX 650 Ti.

As you can see here, 2GB will not help a GPU like this. It lacks the horsepower to use settings that need more than 1GB VRAM.

Now about the power consumption...

This shouldn't be a problem as long as your PSU is indeed 300watt.

The guy that made the measurement here was using an overclocked Intel Core i7-3960X @ 4.3GHz.

So you will consume even less.

The MSI 650ti will use only 85w:

But its better to buy a new one cause when you will buy a new GPU you will need a better one for sure...
