Hi everyone I've a Vizio 32 inch passive 3d tv. I was able to use the side by side 3d just fine before, but now I've a problem. I have a Radeon HD 6800. If I give 1080p to the TV it will allow me to turn Side by Side 3d mode, altough now (I reformated my pc 3 month ago, and I haven't touched the 3d since) the Graphic Card is sending 1920x1080. I can't manage to change it back to 1080p in CCC(I've been trying for the past 2 day!) Any idea? Thanks for passing by!

I knew some of you would say that, the problem, is when I press info on ym Tv control it'll tell me it is reveiving 1920x1080, when it say 1920x1080 it won,t let me turn on the 3d feature (side by side). It has to say 1080p, wich i can get with my xbox, (And I used to get from my Pc to Tv)

Wait. You want to use TV as a PC monitor and use the TV 3D converter? I don't think you can do that.

I have a normal monitor + my tv connected to my Pc, so when I watch movie I can put them on the Tv. I've some software that will put the movie in Side By Side mode so I can then turn it 3d, altough my Tv won't go in 3d mode since it is receiving 1920x1080 (that's what the tv say when I hit info) instead of saying 1080p(Wich I was able to have before I reformated my computer)

Are you plugging it into the same HDMI Input that you were when it was working before?

Most likely not all of your HDMI Inputs are HDMI 1.4.

I'm plugging it in the same HDMI port. As for Software, I'm on windows 7 64 bit, I use Catalyst control Center for my GPU. If you're asking what sofware I use for 3d? That shouldn't matter since I use to be able to watch 3d movie from youtube, but I use Tridef 3D and Bino for videogame and movie conversion VideoGame work fine with Tridef3D since its ready to go 3d, the Tv set it on it's own, but I cant get to side by side mode!

Change it to 720p. HDMI doesn't have enough bandwidth over one cable to support 1080p 3D.

1080p and 1920x1080 are the same resolutions though.

The fact of the matter is there are only like a handful of true 1920x1080 1080p games and chances are you arnt playing any of them. most games arnt even 720p 1280x720. its all just up scaled in the PS3.

You can do 1080p 3D over HDMI. However, I'm pretty sure it's locked at either 24 or 30 fps. HDMI just doesnt have the bandwidth capabilities to do full 1080p 3D at 60fps.

You're probably right about that, I'm only able to select 24hz when in 1080p, Still looks and plays great for me.

I never once mentioned I could do it on my PS3, nor was I being aggressive in anyway. You need to unrustle your jimmies, my friend. If you look at the first quote, I said I do 1080p 3D with my PS3 Display. Thats not a PS3, There is an actual TV/Monitor Called "Playstation 3D Display" and I use that as my computer monitor and I do 3D 1080p gaming with it on my PC. :) However, looking back I can see where you would have been mistaken if you werent aware of this display.

You either do 720p at 60hz (what you should be using for games) or 1080p at 24hz (used for movies) with just one HDMI cable. Gaming in 3D at 24fps is not acceptable.

I don't know what any of these other people are saying, but I do know I was in your same exact situation. Wanted to play 3D games and watch 3D movies on my 50inch HDTV through my Pc but it has to be in 1080p, not 1920x1080, in order to utilize the 3D features. In order to get it to 1080p, you need to go into your GPU control center and change the resolutions. I had to do it on an AMD laptop. Go into Vision control center and then to my digital flat panels, then HDTV support and towards the bottom, scroll until you find the 1080p. If that don't work, You can use 1080i, the 3D will still work. Now I have Nvidia and I play games in 1080p in 3D on my Tv all the time and watch 3D movies (using CyberDVD) using just one regular HDMI cable. If you use 3D from your Pc software, you can only do 720p 60Hz or 1080p 24Hz but if it's side by side 3D, you can use your Tv and get 1080p with 60Hz.

For example, I was just played Trine 2 and it has a side by side option (I have to say, Trine 2 has the best selection of 3D options I've ever seen for any game) and then I set my Tvs 3D to side by side and POW. 1080p 3D action. I play maxed out with my GTX 780 and get 50-60FPs with Vsync on and in 3D. Also my Tv has Sense3D which is for full 1080p 3D.
