but I am stuck with a 1155 MoBo so I am thinking of going with this processor right here. http://www.microcenter.com/product/388575/Core_i7_3770K_35GHz_Socket_LGA_1155_Boxed_Processor#

it's the difference between $250 for a new mobo/processor and it's not that much weaker than the 1150 socket 4th generation i7. To me, this is a good deal but there's only 3 left in stock for in-stor pick up. What do you guys think? I don't need to upgrade but I do have extra cash and wouldn't mind a better processor.

Do you think I should pick this up or wait till my MobO or processor !@#$s out and just do a full mobo/processor upgrade. Either way it'll last for years... here's my system specs.

Yes, I just game. I'm just power hungry. I'm upgrading something, just don't know what yet (besides ram, that's a given.)

Going from an i5 3470 to an i7 3770k is a waste of money, wait it out until you actually need to upgrade the cpu. Just upgrade the ram, but maybe you could get a better case or whatever if you *have to spend money*

What are all your specs?

EDIT: Missed links. Your hardware is good, spend your money on accessories like mouse, keyboard, sound, cooling, monitor etc

not really worth going from an i5 to i7 for that kind of money for gaming. If you are doing alot of video editing and or rendering then it might worth it but for gaming outside 4-5 games ( where you will see small differences ) they will perform the same

As been said before there's no reason to upgrade from i5 to i7.

If you want to upgrade anything it's another GPU in SLI, better case if your current one doesn't have good airflow and cable management, upgraded case fans (Noctua / Corsair), better CPU cooler for OC if your current CPU is K version, triple monitor config or new keyboard and mouse.

There're a lot of things you could upgrade, the decision is by the budget limit.

Not worth the upgrade. Maybe put some of that money towards a more powerful GPU?

Honestly, your computer is fine the way it is except for the RAM. That's running way too slow. Jump up to 2133 if you really need to spend some money.
