I'm on the verge of completing Alan Wake at the moment, and I haven't got any other games to play, so I need some help guys. Criterias for the new game:

- Fairly new (maybe 2008-).

-Good story.

- The plot should preferably be set in a town or something (at least not out in nowhere)

- Not too much action and shooting, more focus on mysterious events and that kind of stuff.

- NOT Red Dead Redemption or L.A. Noire.

Thanks in advance.

Shoot!

@hulte:

Deadly Premonition is pretty much exactly what you're looking for.

  • Absolutely batsh*t crazy story with tons of mystery and strange things
  • Takes place in a huge town
  • Story focused, little action and shooting compared to other games
  • Fairly new
  • I can't stress enough, one of the strangest and most batsh*t stories ever in any medium of entertainment

Basically it's Alan Wake on LSD and crack and a bit more story focused. Ignore reviews on Metacritic, it had issues on launch that are now fixed. Read the user reviews instead! There's also a small fanmade patch that enhances the graphics, takes about 2 minutes to install and setup to your liking. (DPfix 0.9.5)

Fallout 3 and New Vegas - very long, can replay them many times even without mods.

Far Cry 3, also very long, maybe a litte more action than you'd like and it's set out in nowhere but there's a story to keep you going.

Then there's Metro 2033 and Last Light, also shooters like Far Cry, but they are focused on the story.

Haha well lucky for me I ordered it a few days ago then, but since I live part time at my dad and part time at my mum I basically need two games to play at the same time. Thanks anyway, and thanks to the rest of you aswell, I will certainly take a peek at your suggestions :) Keep em coming!
