Hey all I am looking at doing some upgrades on an old Dual Core 2 Duo. I will already have the case, HDD, PSU, and a 7770 GPU. The upgrades I was looking to do was RAM, MOBO, and CPU. This is what I selected. Come tax time I will throw a new GPU in there, but I figured the 7770 should get me by for awhile.

AMD FX-6300 Wishera 3.5GHZ

ASROCK 960GM

8GB Kingston HyperX RAM

Any cheaper suggestions is always welcomed. But just wanted to see some opinions before making any purchases.

Personally I'd buy a better motherboard but I can understand that you're on a budget

@Arthas045: Corsair 200R, Antec 300, CM HAF912, Rosewill Challenger they are all $60. Also I would recommend better MOBO also maybe at least this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157364

@redskins26rocs: Sweet thanks for the tips. CPU looks like it will be pretty decent.

Got the same ram and similar CPU, albeit it's older Bulldozer cousin. Works great for me. I think the FX series got a bad rap. I'm just going by experience. Yeah I seen all the benchmarks, but when it comes down to real world performance, mine runs great. I would recommend the fx6300, or fx6350, especially if you're on a budget.
