This is the keyboard I have now. Is it "mechanical?"
http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-920-002478-Keyboard-K120/dp/B003ELVLKU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1430528503&sr=8-1&keywords=logitech+k120

Should I be upgrading this if I want twitchy reflexes for FPS online gaming? I've owned by Logitech K120 for a while now. Nowadays, you can get it for $15.49 at Amazon, so I'm concerned it's outdated. Is it?

G710+ is Logitech cheapest mechanical keyboard and it usually goes for $100 USD. Any mechanical KB will be advertised as such because it is a big selling point.

I'm not sure why people think these are so great. I remember how loud my old mechanical keyboards were. Plus the ones they sell are overpriced. I love my microsoft digital keyboard, it was less then 20 dollars so i bought 6 of them. A lifetime supply basically.

@nicecall: Your prob thinking of the old buckling spring keyboards. You can get quitter versions of mechanical switches.

I like the smoothness of the key presses. Feels a lot better then the mush of membrane.

LOL blue switches, if you love to type and you love that noise.

Also he meant "Logitechs' cheapest mechanical keyboard"

But speaking about good cheap mechanical keyboards I would go with Tt eSports Poseidon Z for 70$, black switches and got blue LEDs

@Neo_Sarevok keyboard won't make you a better FPS player, I would go with better mouse for your grip, if you haven't got already one.

I'm not sure if my CM Storm Quickfire TK (what a mouthful), makes me any better at gaming, but it certainly feels a lot nicer when I type (Cherry MX Brown). I certainly type term papers much faster and with a little better accuracy. It's just a joy to use. Necessary? No.

I've got a Tt Poseidon Z and it's great, it is a bit loud at first but you get used to it, it's great for gaming, typing, etc.

I beg to differ. It does increase an average WPM for most users...

It makes you more accurate too.

If you keep an eye open for deals and rebates, you can sometimes find a mechanical keyboard for under $60. A year ago, I managed to get a Thermaltake Tt Meka with Cherry Blacks for $30. Mech keyboards are nice because they are built very sturdy, last a really long time and usually have primo features.
