Is 600 Watts good with this GPU?

I plan on getting a R9 270x in a few weeks and I'm wondering if my PSU is strong enough. Also, I see that some cards need two 6-pin connectors with 75 Watts each. Mine has the two 6 pins, do I need to worry about the 75W thing?

CPU= i7 3770

RAM= 8GB's

I think you should wait a little long with your build. Not sure if the 270X is in the same boat as the 290 and 290X but the prices have sky-rocketed because of this litecoin/bitcoin mining crap.

Though the 270X is quite a good GPU. I'm no expert in this yet but 600W should be enough.

Haha, it's always exciting to upgrade to a newer GPU. If you can't find R9 270X for a decent price then, look into GTX 760 it's about 7% faster and almost the same price. I also run a 600w PSU and running a GTX 760 without any problems.

The card I have now is an AMD, is it tough going from AMD to Nvidia?

I don't see why it would be tough? Just plug it in, get all the latest drivers and you're ready to play!

If I were to do that, should I plug my monitor into the onboard graphics and uninstall everything that has to do with AMD?

You would plug in your monitor into your new GPU, just like the way you have your monitor plugged in into your current GPU.

You should uninstall whatever software you're using to get all the latest drivers for your current AMD GPU. (I don't know exactly what it's called because I never used an AMD GPU). Once you get an Nvidia GPU download "GeForce Experience" and through GeForce Experience you'll be able to get all the latest drivers for your new Nvidia GPU. It's simple!

500Watt will be over the top for that GPU, I'm currently using CX500 with 280X

That 7% faster is actually 2-4fps more for about 30$ more.

I have a later edition (August edition, I believe?) GTX 760 which is 1059mhz instead of standard 980MHz, I got it for $240 :p

GIGABYTES are nice because of their coolers, great for overclocking!

- Agreed, I wasn't looking for an AMD card when I was buying my GTX 760 but I would have for sure bought this if I saw this deal at that time. It's a very good looking GPU too! Would look good in my tower.

gregbmil, if you're looking to buy this, you should make sure it fits in your case. It's kind of a bigger GPU.
