my hdd is dying (makes a clicking sound on startup and won't go to windows)

it has this: http://www.harddrivebenchmark.net/hdd.php?hdd=Seagate+ST750LM022+HN-M750MBB

but what is an ATA drive that is better than that that will fit in my lenovo y580? I don't know what will be compatible, thanks.

That says Sata while mine is Ata. Are you sure it will work.

Might as well upgrade the drive then... You can pick up a seagate hybrid drive(part SSD) speed things up and get more space
