I have never played it but I heard System Shock 2 is pretty scary and you also might wanna try out Clive Barkers Undying and Condemned: Criminal Origins

FEAR if you haven't played it yet, very intense action with a lot of horror themes.

You could try STALKER if you dont' want to go too back into the past with older games. Its not entirely based on horror, but its definetely got a creepy atmosphere and some shocking moments.

Theres also Resident Evil 4 for the PC if for whatever reason you missed it on the GC or PS2 (its a must play IMO).

Well those are basically all the horror games I've played that I can recommend.

Although my friend picked up Condemned for the 360 and enjoyed it, so you could always try that.

But I never played it so I wouldn't really know.

Ones that have already been suggested (but I feel they are SO good that it would be criminal of me not to recommend again):

  • Clive Barker's Undying
  • System Shock 2

Games that haven't been mentioned yet:

  • Penumbra
  • American McGee's Alice (more creepy than scary)
  • Alien vs. Predator 2
  • Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines (some parts are pretty durned scary...others are more creepy)

I can attest to Condemned being very scary. It's super tense... I found it spookier than FEAR, atmosphere wise. Both, however, are really solid. FEAR is probably a better overall game.

both fear and condemned are awesome. i really highly reccomend both. condemned is a game that impressed me alot. its tense, atmoshperic and violent. i nearly shat myself several times during that game. if you find little asian girlsscary (a la the grudge/ the ring) get fear. she will make you soil yourself.

Fear all the way. Fear is the only game I can honestly say gave me sweaty palms. They pull it off very well. Fear is the scariest recent game but,and although its very old, the ORIGINAL AvP was just as scary as Marine and sometimes as Predator, alien not so much.

Call me a wuss but the hotel in VTMB scared the crap out of me. The rest of it though, IMO, was not scary at all.

Yup, the hotel was probably the scariest part. But the hospital is also really creepy.

I agree condemned is the scariest game I jhave played, maybe not better than FEAR but scarier as the intense moments are derived from un-scripted events .

lcieve barker Undying is another one, and I also recommned RE4

however out of the all the scary games I have played over the 25 years of my life ' The Cradle ' level in Thief 3 is the scariest thing going
