hello i have a compaq 6715b laptop with the following specs intel core 2 duo 2.2GHz windows vista business intel GM965 gpu with 350mb graphics memory and shaders now, when i run far cry, the startup menu loads normally but when i start a new game, the loading screen starts lagging and the game starts with an incredible lag and a plenty of diagonal color bands on screen even when the game is run in the minimum possible settings... the sound is just fine.... what i am trying to say is that according to the intel website, the game is pretty well supported by the GPU and it runs fine in their case.... http://www.intel.com/support/g...965/sb/cs-026146.htm can some one tell me why its happening in my case and any ways to overcome it?? REGARDS Tirtha PLEASE HELP!!

Your PC is way, way, way too slow. It's supported, but the game will not run without lagging no matter what you do.

Correct that to your pc is slow with a way way way way way way to slow graphics card To the TC your cpu is just ok ( a bit on the slow side ) but the big problem here is the integrated graphics card you have aka GM965.I'm surprised that think was able to even run the menu pf the game

ocstew and adamosmaki, if you visit this site, you'll find out that the game runs on the integrated chip with this very specific chip... my GPU has shaders but doesn't support T&L http://www.intel.com/support/g...965/sb/cs-026146.htm in fact intel even launched some bonus missions for the game for their chips http://game-on.intel.com/eng/games/farcry2/missiondownload/default.aspx can patching solve this.or can i run it on emulators like 3danalyze or swiftshader? after all, the ame requires a minimum pu memory of 256mb... mine has 358mb.....

the link you give is broken ( 404 error ) and if its about the intel demo running Far cry 2 on integrated cpu tha was on an i3 if i'm not mistaken wich has a much newer gpu than yours Also the amount of ram means almost nothing when comes to how well a game will run. The thinks that matters the most are the number of shaders , the number of texture units, number of rops, GPU/memory and shaders speeds ( although even speeds arent that significant ), the technology uses for instance if its using unified shaders or separate pixel and vertex shaders ( newer cards as in 2007 and onwords all use unified shaders ),memory bandwidth ( 128,192 or 256bit or even higher ) If amount of memory was that important then a radeon 6350 with 2gb of memory would be faster compared to a radeon 6850 with 1gb of memory which is laughable ( the 6850 is i dont know 10-20 times faster )
