Yes. In fact it's really slow on single core CPU's so a dual core CPU is highly recommended.

yes it does but in there review on ign they ran the games on max with a single core pentium 4 3.4 ghz so if you don't have a dual core you should be able to play it on a single and if you don't have a great single you could still get it on medium or low settings

FYI for anyone intimidated by the slow performance of the demo, the full game appears to perform better.
