Hey, just received my 970 gtx from MSI today and everythings been going well until I played Arma 3. I noticed I had the same settings as one individual had on youtube, but I was getting 10-20 fps lower than he was getting. We had identical settings.

Furmark Benchmark 1080 Preset Test Results:

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz

GPU core: 1278 MHz, memory: 3505 MHz

Resolution: 1920x1080 (FS) - AA:0 samples

Max GPU Temp: 57°C

SCORE:4055 points (67 FPS, 60000 ms)

Does anyone else have similar settings or that could help me out? Thanks.

EDIT: HUR DUR ITS DDR...x2...

You mean the other one has the exact same hardware and his result were better by 10~20 fps ? are you sure , did you compare RAM timing , also if I am not mistaken GDDR5 memory run at 5200MHz.(just checked TechPowerUp review) it actually should run at 7000MHz so ...

Is there a way to change the memory to 7000MHZ? Why would mine be set to 3505MHZ?

I mean I just saw a person benchmarking his graphics card and had the same memory clock.

Any idea what I should do to make sure my card is running fine?

It would be great if someone with a 970 gtx would help me out. Thanks.

I remember getting an old school MSI Radeon 9800 Pro back when Half-Life 2 came out. It was the first MSI or Radeon product I had ever bought. It would also be the last. The thing was defective and I had problems with the replacement card. I don't know who was to blame, MSI or ATI, but I have stayed away from those brands ever since.

Probably ATI, I've had nothing but issues back in the day.

Well the memory clock from what I understand lowers when it idles. But, still I don't seem to understand why I score lower than him both in FPS and in benchmarking.

DDR - Double Data Rate = 3505x2 = 7010

Its running fine.

Try to play some games that were tested with the GTX970 aka Far Cry, Crysis and many more, there're bunch of 970 reviews from many brands, going with MSI doesn't improve that much the fps - 2-3fps give or take from a game to game.

Funny thing, I have an MSI/ATI gpu and it's given me zero problems so far.

@SimplyFatal: which software showed that you have a 3505 MHz memory clock on your GPU ?

How about comparing benchmarks with a GPU dependant game like Crysis 3 or something not a game totally dependent on CPU power like Arma 3 and then see how you fare.....

On the Altis map When in towns and built up areas i'm getting around 30fps @ 1920 x 1080p with 2 x MSI 4g Gaming GTX 970's and a 4970k @ 4.6ghz it is framerate is highly dependent on where you are in the map and how populated it is there is also a massive difference in framerate depending on whether you are on the map Altis or Stratis the first one being 275km sq vs 30km sq by comparison Crysis 3 on high i can run at around 60fps at a res of 6000 x 1080 (3 screens with bezel correction)

The Arma games are not ones you want to test the performance of your GPU's

Also the card have Double Data Rate memory so 3505mhz memory = 7010 mhz effective which is correct

And the Gpu core on the MSI card states that it has a boost clock of 1278mhz but under load the cards actually clock to about 1350mhz...

My MSI 670GTX HDMI has never worked. So think its MSI what is rubbish and will never buy a MSI product again. I got my PC from a well known shop around my area but they didn't want to no. So angry at my self for not taking it back but it was in a computer all ready pre built by them. Every now and then I try my HDMI port but all I get is a green distorted screen on start up then it turns it self off. DVI to HDMI ok but I always think if HDMI port not working what else not working.

Exactly! 3505X2 does equal 7010mhz. You might be getting less FPS because that person might have a beefier CPU, RAM, higher OC, etc.

They probably just overclocked the cpu. People have got the 3570k up to 4.5 which would give you quite an increase in FPS.
