The Haunted Cathedral levels are pretty scary in the first games though...

Buy ArmA off of Steam for $29.95 and enjoy a real tactical shooter. It also has tons of mods,island,sound enhancments, and etc at armaholic.com

Also download the patches. The demo is crap compared to the full game.

Rainbow Six Los Vegas is the best, not many people like Ghost Recon, or Swat 4.

I got bored of Sawt 4 and Ghost Recon is a pain in the butt!(Difficulty on easy still hard).

If by Battlefield you mean "who is the biggest jet/chopper whore who team kills just so they can get the next vehicle spawn and rape the entire map for their own perverted pleasure, while those who want to shoot rather than fly get strafed and bombed into blinding rage" then yeah Battlefield is most definitely the most tactical shooter I've ever played in my life.

Oh, you misunderstood me. I was talking about Battlefield 2142 :P

armed assualt, swat 4, et: quake wars and hidden and dangeous 2

and i love crysis multiplayer. you can employ quite a few tactics esp. using the cloak, hand held radar and a sniper rifle :)

wtf! those are some of the least tactical games out, by far, the whole ghost recon series is tactical, and so is america's army

Any Tom Clancy game that is not a Console port is good on PC.LaNoOm

I agree 100% on this one. The moment those games started getting dumbed down and produced for consoles and then ported for the PC was the moment those games became pseudo tactical FPS. Just notice the disparity between reviews of the same game just on different systems.

You do realize that even 9+ years after it's release, there are mods still being made for Ghost Recon and the total number of mods fills up 7 DVDs? Name one other game that has done that. What is this Rainbow Six Los Vegas? I knew that Ubi made a R6 Vegas, but never heard of Los Vegas being released.

For the record, Rainbow Six 3 was only released on consoles, not the PC. Rainbow Six: Raven Shield was released on the PC and not consoles.

On topic, Rainbow Six/R6: Rogue Spear and Ghost Recon (before getting Ubified) as well as VBS would be my answer. Still, I am awaiting a new game that intends to take the Tac-Sim crown and it is being made by the former RSE lead level designer, John Sonedecker with help from current and former Green Berets.
