too bad they're pushed to be released in the second quarter, earliest we'll see them is about april, and that's optimistically speaking. Nvidia is given such a huge lead in the dx10 market, and it's hard for DAAMIT (ATI+AMD) to pick up as i'm sure Nvidia is just waiting so they can release their counters to the r6xx series. But i still hold high hopes for DAAMIT nonetheless, it would be near insane to release an inferior product to the 8800's, and I expect their cards to blow it sky high, but its not to say Nvidia will just be sitting there doing nothing, oh god i love competition.jfelisario
the R600 HAS to beat the 8800GTX and at least be at or close to the level of the G81, otherwise daamit is done. Of course, seeing as how the g81 will begin to use GDDR4 memory, I still doubt it will reach the insane speeds of the r600XTX. 2.2GHz anyone? Faster than some processors...frost_mourne13The 2900XTX will beat the 8800GTX.

This list looks fake as DAAMIT has confirmed that there will be an X2900XTX at the high end, not an X2800XTX.
So if my budget is around $180 then what card would that be? and what is the will be the nvidia equivelent for that?dahwnpapayaProbably the 8600GT or 8900GS... same as it was for 7600GT and 7900GS: Kings of the Mid-range market...

but what ati card is around $180 cus arent the ones on the list in yen

Only if the Ultra isn't just a mean rumor. And i thought the list was in US dollars...frost_mourne13
yeah, looking at it now that's to low to be in yen

I thought i was a chinese leak, yen?Is that X2800XTX2 similar in idea to the 7950GX2 - two GPUs on one card ?Cyborg-21I assume, ATI is releasing a X2800XTX2?

Looks like it, i just wished that the two companies could make quad-sli, quad-fire viable, as in its current condition it's quite pitiful, as i would really imagine a pc loaded with what is physically 4 gpu's to make something significant out of that. We'll just have to wait for that x2900xtx2 and 8950gx2 if they turn out to be something powerful or just another moneysink.

there are many cases where "normal" sli set-ups have surpassed the quad-sli, for example a pair of 7900 GT sli'ed can be faster than a quad, even if the gx2 are technically made out of two 7900 GT's stuck together. i guess what i'm trying to say its not practical and worth it for what it would cost people.jfelisarioExactly. That's why Nvidia and ATI are hesitant to release quad-sli. Anyway, the driver support for current quad-sli is also poor.
