There's FF7 and FF8 if you're patient and can deal with sloppy ports.

I think Phantasy Star Universe is JRPG-ish. I haven't played it, but it looks that way.

Septerra Core was pretty JRPG like and was PC exclusive.

It's kind of funny that like the best/only JRPG on the PC isn't Japanese.

No, I think it's been confirmed. Try Kotaku, I think they have something about it.

at most the only ones in recent memory are Recettear: an item shops tale, and The Last Remnant.

There's The Last Remnant that is pretty mediocre. There's also Recettear: An Items Shop Tale which is amazing imo. You could always purchase a second hand PS2 and emulate classic jRPGs like SMT: Nocturne.

Jesus christ, this thread is 3 years old.

One of the better ports and JRPG's ive played in my life was: The Last Remnant. Pretty awesome game with a cool combat system and story. + it's actually BETTER on the PC which it was ported to.

I never understood why mainstream JRPG games haven't become huge on the PC .

I'm pretty sure that in the two years and nine months it's been since this thread was originally created, OP has found his answers. Closed. :)
