I'm having a very hard time to decide what gaming monitor to buy. Right now i have Dell 27'', it's glossy and that's the main reason i want to change it to another, matte 27'' monitor. I know that with 27'' it's better to go for 1440 resolution but i'm not sure my rig will be able to handle it (i7-4790, GTX 770, 16GB RAM, Z97-A). What do you say? I wanted the Asus [PG278Q] but that's ridiculously expensive.

I was thinking going for Dell U2713HM or U2713H, the HM one is much cheaper and also gives 1440, what should i go for?

About benchmarks - see for yourself about 20-40fps on the most demanding games - if that's fine by you go ahead and buy one, IMO if you don't want to reduce graphics quality buy a brand new GPU like the 980, or you can add another 770 to your setup, I know they're really low in price right now (250$) - so if you've got there a 650Watts PSU + you can run games on ultra without reducing quality on 1440p.

Both of your Dell monitors are too expensive and above 5ms which is bad for gaming, you can settle on 5 with IPS monitor but nothing above.

I recommend on: BenQ or Asus - both are cheaper than what you've picked, the Asus got 5ms, BenQ got 4ms but cost 40$ more so whatever you wish for .

I like playing on minimum 60 FPS because lower then that always feels "heavy" for me, and not smooth enough. Eh to be honest i don't feel like i'm ready to make the jump to 1440, this is way to expensive in my country, i like quality stuff to last me long but i just feel that spending so much on a monitor is too much. I would have gone for what you offered but unfortunately we don't have these models in my country. That sucks because these are not as expensive as the Dell's i showed. All we have in terms of 1440 is these 2 dell's i showed, the crazy expensive asus gaming and a samsung one which also way too expensive. Going back to 1080, what do you say about Asus VX279H? they not expensive and got 5ms. (funny here this monitor cost almost as the 1440 you showed -___- ).

Oh and 250$ is not "low" :P (well here they cost a bit more).

Also you are a great help, thanks.

Yeah I have the same problem, you can try that Dell U2713H - it got 6ms, took me 2 days to get used to 5ms screen after using a 2ms for a very long time (browsing, moving my cursor on my desktop, gaming - everything looked like it was added the blur effect from the games), so if you have some sort of return policy that you can return it after a week or so that would be a good way to try it. (but again without adding more power to GPU section, you'll have to reduce graphics quality on demanding games to high, 70%-80% of the games aren't demanding as much so you could run them above 60fps on ultra)

That Asus monitor that you say is pretty good, 5ms and IPS.

Don't be upset about your country, in my country we don't know what IPS TV means, we only got PC monitors with that tech and only 4 TV IPS modules in the whole country, they brought more 4K TVs than IPS, yeah my country skipped on the IPS TV generation.

And i thought my country had it bed...

I found this monitor: Asus VG248QE. It is not expensive here, it is 1ms, 144Hz, BUT, its 24''. Is it worth it to go down back to 24'' to get this one? I really like 27'' screens because they are so big so now i cant decide.

It's also not IPS monitor because there're no IPS monitors with lower than 5ms.

It's a gaming monitor, so unless you're some sort of MLG pro player - there's no reason to get such monitor, I'd vote for better overall experience with IPS panel (gaming, movies, pictures)

@Fluxation: It really comes down to what you'll be using it for primarily. I have three U2711s and I love them, but part of the reason I went with those and not something cheaper or faster is because I also use them for work. IPS displays aren't the fastest performers for gaming but they are much easier on the eyes for long term usage. The CCF model will perform a little better than the LED model from a color accuracy perspective, but personally I would go with the LEDs for the longer lifespan and greatly reduced heat.

1k is the suggested retail, but if you do decide to go that route you can pick them up for much cheaper. I spent between 500-650 each for my U2711s.

I can personally recommend the Rog Swift. Yes it is expensive but bloody hell it's gooood. 1440, 3D, and 144Hz!! AND G-SYNC.

Really man until you've played BF4 at 144Hz in 2560 by 1440 in Ultra you ain't lived.

@Fluxation: Wait for the BenQ XL2720G. Trust me. Source: I test and give feedback on Gaming Displays for a living. As well as CAD/CAM Displays but my expertise is Gaming Displays, mostly for FPS.

I've ordered one Rog Swift from Amazon for about $450. If it looks good, I think I'll look at swapping out my u2711s.

@Byshop: $450???!!??

Are you sure it's the PG278Q not the PB278Q?

The swift is going to be $800 if it's even out in the USA yet

No, right after I made that post I realized it was the PB278Q and I cancelled it. Nevermind. It's annoying because on Amazon search if you type in Rog Swift the first result is the PB278Q.

This 6mm bezels are one of the reasons I want to swap. I've got a couple inches of bezel between monitors right now.
